griff
good grief Jazz so you have had 2 confusing bits of news today hmmmmmm i really don't know if my dad is like this all the time or not... i never know what he says about me behind my back, he is generally a miserable tw*t and to be honest i don't know how my mum got involved with him, stayed involved with him or took him back after he went off and left us, his whole family are weird and i am actually seeing his family coming through in him..... i really couldn't care if i spoke to him again , that must seem really awful especially to those who have lost parents but i rely only on myself and trust nobody but me! he will need me long before i need him and i doubt as if i will ever forgive him or forget what he said. Yantan
It doesn't seem awful to me Griff. My dad is miserable so-and-so. He's got loads of money but is always pleading poverty and if he can get owt for nowt he's right there. He's not above stealing stuff from his children either
owl
Owl, I'm sorry I forgot to say earlier how fantastic that your mum seems to be getting her old self back, I hope it lasts I hope so too but hope she doesn't get the bit of her old self back which drove the rest of the family insane, the fussing nagging bit that wittered away non stop and never listened. She seems much happier without it.
merledogs
Morning Griff - I have a miserable father as well - haven't spoken to him in seven years although we have in recent years swapped the odd email, but I don't ever want to let him back into my life again properly, because it's way too stressful having him there. Mind you they do say that if you could hear what your best friends said about you, they wouldn't be your friends. Glad mummy Owl's getting better RMF : I'm driving to Coventry today and the weather is absolutely vile - freezing cold sleet and strong winds which keep blowing my plants over. merledogs
Correction : it's actually snow not sleet, but the ground's too wet for it to have any chance of sticking.
griff
sorry to inform you Merledogs that you will be greeted by rain and greyness down here too..... it is currently raining and dull! according to my dad it is because he has been made to feel like an idiot over his car.... well yes thats because you are! he has been a complete pushover during the whole thing...bl**dy men! my mums is trying to get me to the doctors today..... i think i have labrynthitis again and i would like it stopped before it really gets going
owl
High winds and lots of snow here, but it's on the soggy side so I hope it turns to rain and washes away. Wispa declined last run in garden last night, wasn't going out in that, thank you very much mum I am not a husky. She is still in bed tucked up under blanket and probably trying to ignore her bladder.

Your dad is being a bit of a stereotype ... he should be pleased he has the efforts of you and your mum to sort this mess, instead of having to take full responsibility alone. But maybe that's a tough one for him to swallow. Dear me!
owl
@Jazz, difficult questions, hope you get some sense out of someone on both counts. How is Trudy actually feeling now?
griff
i was wondering had anyone heard from k9fran after the other night?? i have been thinking about her. Owl, does your mum have to see a doctor for her dementia issues? would be interesting to hear their take on things.... might help some other people with the same problems too. owl
Yes, I have exchanged PMs with Fran and she has my numbers. Things seem a bit better. No, as my mum is 92 no one among doctors & nurses is much bothered about the dementia, it's kind of seen as normal. kittycat
Morning There is sludge falling from the sky and sticking to vertical surfaces as long as it stays off the ground. I thought people were joking when they said it was going to snow, beginning to think 2012 tales might be true I'm going to do lunch today with my friend, he said something cryptic on the way out of work and after enquiry he said "oh can't talk about here" so I'm gonna brave the weather to find out, bet it's nothing interesting
owl
A March heatwave followed by April blizzards is not unheard of. I went on Easter hols in early 80s, arrived at rented farm caravan in Mid Wales on Good Friday in blazing heat and next morning awoke to find everything strangely dark. The whole caravan was inside a snowdrift and the farmer had to dig the door out. By Easter Monday it had all gone and we had great weather. kittycat
Blimey, my Mother just told me a similar story from the late 80s as well. Still very confusing I just put all my winter clothes away
