merledogs
I love Bumble Bees and always get lots in the garden, but more so this year than usual. Snapped a couple of pics of one buzzing around the flowers this afternoon

GoldenOldie
Am I imagining it or are they bigger than ever this year - I've seen some whoppers recently, usually in my conservatory being watched by the dogs!

owl
Thanks for sharing. I love bumble bees too. The lavender at mum's house was alive with them from dawn till dusk. There are 3 kinds of lavender there and 4 kinds of bumble.
JulesB
Gorgeous pics, I love bees. A huge bumble bee flew into the room today, circled round my head and left, I nearly jumped out of my skin I disturbed either a wasps nest or a bees nest yesterday, when I hacked some geraniums and nettles back. There is no sign of a built nest - the wasps/bees seem to be coming out of the ground. I think I will have to catch one to see which it is, if it's wasps I am a bit concerned for the hens/dogs/cat as the nest is right outside the back door into the garden, where all the animals congregate
kiri_tc
We have burrowing bees too. They live in the ground and are solitary bees although they may live many to one area.
