Mrs Mop
Thanks everyone for all your messages and PMs - they are very much appreciated Still trying to get my head around it Chemo is an option but highly unlikely to be a cure. I opt for quality of life over quantity and I don't know if the chemo would make her ill. We have the option of referral to a cancer specialist at Liverpool University teaching hospital (where Max was referred when he was ill). If nothing else, they may be able to identify how far the cancer has spread. Whatever I do, I will do what is best for Milly and not what's best for me. I am sorry the news isn't better, I have already discussed the chemo options with my vet over Ellie and am 90% sure I won't give her this. Until the time comes I can't be sure but like you, to me quality of life is more important than an extended life. Both Joe and Gracie are on quality of life now and I have never regretted my decision on these, both are as fit as they can be and enjoying life which to me is important. Whatevery you decide we know you have Milly's best interests at heart and you have all our support to help you through this.

merledogs
Milly has been out for his first run since the operation today. She had a great time but got very tired (despite several rest stops) so I ended up carrying her half the way back (no mean feat when you have four other dogs in one hand and milly hoiked up under the other arm) Billy very kindly brought some Manuka Honey round last night, so she has had some of that mixed in her tea tonight. Hopefully that will give her immune system a little boost. I may put some on her wound later as she went in the water and it's looking a bit red. Its so nice to hear that she has had a good day. Milly has no idea that she is poorly, bless her.
