Houndwoman
I am so sorry Marge have only just seen this Sorry that dear old Spike has had a setback but I am sure he will be fine. It is quite a common op in dogs G knows why we have had 2 had theirs removed and one of ours had a pacemaker implant and she sailed through it all at 11 years of age. Sending healing thoughts to Spike and you all too

houndzrus
We're back home again, but we had a chat with the vet and there is a lot to think about overnight. Apparently he has been very stressed today, even went to bite the vet twice! The vet was most indignant because he said he made sure that he warmed the stethescope first Anyway, his heart rate was up, so he may have to see a specialist He was in a lot of pain so they don't know whether to operate again to make sure nothing else is going on. He's not eating, but he is drinking water on his own now and his heart rate has reduced this evening, although it's still irregular. The final thing was they didn't know if he was just "being a greyhound" and stressing hugely over everything. I have to feedback in the morning for them to make their decisions. I'm trying not to make too much fuss of Spike tonight and will try to just let him lie quetly without any extra stess from me. Cherry was a bit OTT when he first arrived, but she has gone to lie down now. I have phoned Keith to let him know how Spike is because he is up north with his lorry, and I will make camp here in the living room again later. That's it for now really but thanks again for keeping an eye on us Any sign of distress tonight and I'm going straight back to the emergency vet, let's hope that's one journey we won't be making.
