Peachy Posted May 2, 2008 Report Share Posted May 2, 2008 Oldies Club have over 20 dogs in foster care at the moment and we are in dire need for funds with our vet bills at an all time high. Last year we were kindly chosen to be K9 Knitters charity of the year and we have received the fantastic sum of £2,223.90 !!!!! To say we are amazed, staggered, moved, honoured, humbled and astounded is an understatement We would all very much like to thank K9 Knitters, their dedicated team and everyone who has supported them which, in turn, has helped Oldies Club when we need it most. I've cross posted it to the k9knitters forum - and will include a mention of it in our next newsletter. People always appreciate thanks for their efforts. We had a great year last year - benefitting the Oldies and Dogs Trust to the tune of almost £4000 (combined). Through 2008, we're supporting Dogs Trust (again) and Ashbourne Animal Welfare.....and we've already hit the £1400 mark so far this year. And we can only do this with the amazing support from our knitters, the lovely people who buy our coats, and people who donate wool. It was a delight to support Oldies last year - and I'm so pleased the cash was put to good use!
