Tuppence

I have had to make the horrible decision to take Tuppence on his final journey tonight. He has been having these collapses for a while and we were keeping them at bay with tablets, but at the weekend he had a really bad turn and a small one again yesterday. He is no longer enjoying his walks and sleeps more and more. He is off his food again, and I realise this is his time to go. I hate this knowing that sitting here with him at my feet is the last morning of doing so, I hate that when we put him in the car this evening he will not be coming back. I wish I could put the clock in reverse and have him here with me for his whole 16 years in reverse. Tuppence has been the best boy. He is the most well behaved dog I have ever had the pleaseure of sharing time with. When I first had him nearly three years ago, he used to cry all night and try and get out of the garden to follow me when I went out. After that initial settling in period he became an angel.

Thanks to the Oldie club this chap has had nearly three more years of life and he has been so loved in that time. Tilly, my youngest cat loves him more than she does her own litter brother. She is with Tuppence at every chance she gets. She will miss him so.

My heart and thoughts are with you in this sad time. :GroupHug: YOu have given an old dog nearly 3 fantastic and wonderful years and for that everyone at the Oldies Club is forever greatful.

I will light a candle for you and Tuppence :GroupHug:

Run free Tuppence, forever young in the fields at rainbow bridge until you are united once again

Sad that his brother died last year --- he was helped over the bridge by my vet at home with his owner --- just as sad is their old owner is also dying of cancer (she loved them both a lot and it really upset her to part with Tuppence)
