I agree with you. The youngster is 10 years old for heavens sake. If they are going to let youngsters eenter the show (which, in my opinion is a mistake) then they have to accommodate them in any way they can. To be honest, after watching the show last night, the only semblence of any sort of talent was put through to the final. Sorry, Kathy, only just caught up with this. First thing is to get rid of the guilt! We all feel guilt when our dogs are unwell because we all want that elusive magic wand that makes everything alright again. That's got nothing to do with money, that's to do with our own fears and inner turmoil. I've got everything firmly crossed and sending loads of positive thoughts so adding those to all the others that are winging their way through will hopefully help her. Of course, if the job turns out to be the same one that Tempest is holding interviews for, just think how impressed she would be if you did a presentation based on a murder mystery night involving the local amateur dramatic society. Great proof that you are good at taking on and using ideas . It sounds as though the presentation will be looking more for a mini-business plan type of presentation to show how good you would be at turning a profit rather than the event itself. I had a laptop from Currys which was continually breaking down. The ruling that they have (and as PC World is the same company I imagine theirs is the same) is that if the repairs extend beyond 28 days they have to replace the laptop - in my case, I got a refund. The repair isn't one single repair, but any repeated repairs for the same problem. Log everything with dates so that you can prove you aren't deliberately delaying getting the machine fixed to get it to go over the 28 days and once you get there ring them and also write to them to state the problems (with all your logged information)asking for a refund under their 28 day ruling. The forms you were sent wanting to know the ins and outs of your finances are standard. Once returned, usually minimum payment is set which, four or five years ago, was £2.64 per month if you proved you were on benefits. The 'collections' department of the gas/electricity company will suggest all sorts of stupidity like getting rid of your phone so that you can save money and pay them more, but tell them you need it for emergencies (sick relative does the trick). Remember, these guys are paid to get the maximum monthly payment they can from you. Citizens Advice and Energywatch carry weight and can get things sorted out. Estimated meter readings that are incorrect are deemed to be the fault of the customer, not the company since they are put onto the bills that are sent out - theory being that you are supposed to check them. Since privatisation of the industries, meter readings are less frequent and meters can go unread for 2 years without any wrongdoing on the company's part. Direct Debit payments set too low are deemed to be the customer's fault, the theory being that bills are sent out and the rising level of debt should have alerted the customer to contact the company. I've never had a problem with NPower. I did work in customer services for three gas/electric companies (at the same time - customer services covered all three). Do not let Bailiffs enter your property - don't even open the door to them.
