Thank you everyone for thinking of us. They didn't get the results on Friday so I'm none the wiser. Hopefully today though :flowers:

Cassie is making an excellent recovery though

Cloudy, look out for the Dogstar poster when you're next in

Oh no :mecry: :mecry: :mecry: my little piggy dog.

The vets just called. She said the news is not great. The recent lumps are intermediate Grade 2 mass call tumours. The testing company has advised that her prognosis is 'guarded'. I really don't know what theis all means. I was just too upset, I really thought it would be OK.

She also said it is likely that they will grow back, at which point they could remove them again to stop them attacking other organs. It is possible they could and may have spread to the lungs and liver, which reminds me on Weds when they did the blood tests they said her liver results were sllightly elevated (30 above or something) but that wan't a huge concern - is this something to do with it all now?

I had to go as it was a bit bl00dy upsetting. However maybe it's not that bad? Does anyone know?

:GroupHug: Usually a blood test is done for old dogs to check the liver function before an anasthetic, if she had a liver problem they'd be waaay out (rather than a bit high) so stop worrying yourself over that for now :flowers: Isn't it Cindy's Snatch who has had quite a few mass cell tumours removed and that little b*gger's still going strong  Hugs to you and Cassie :GroupHug:

Thank you chickentikka :flowers: . Sorry just having small panic attack but am calmer already. Good news about the liver test, you know how it is you put 2 and 2 together and come out with 5 sometimes  .I think you're right, Snatch did have this condition too and it certainly hasn't beaten him. Will go see if Stafymad knows more. I have an appointment at the vets on Friday. Maybe things will be clearer then.

Sorry it wasn't the news that you were hoping for. :GroupHug: If you think of things to ask before you go to the vets, write them down. My mind always goes blank when they say "Is there anything you would like to know?" Now I shove a bit of paper in their hands and say "Answer that lot!"

Loads of positive thoughts for Cassie. Lots of :GroupHug: for you all.

:GroupHug: Mast cell tumours are recoverable from. I'd also talk to a Homeopathic Vet as Homeopathy and various other treatments can help.

I'm sorry you've had such worrying news, but it may not be as bad as you think. Callie had a 'very aggressive' mast cell tumour removed when she came to us (I think it is 'mast' and not 'mass cell' - just in case you are looking up information). The vet's prognosis was very guarded, but she plodded on for another two years and it was her heart that gave out in the end. I think vets often tend to give a pessimistic outlook rather than raise hopes.

Sending lots and lots of good thoughts for Cassie :GroupHug: :GroupHug:
