ranirottie
I just came home from the stables and I was in the 50mph bit when a black puppy suddenly ran out of a house straight into the road in front of me. I braked and swerved to the left, narrowly missing a lamp post, but the pup ran straight into the path of a car coming the other way. It was killed instantly. The lady was distraught ,she said that she answered the door to her friend and the pup ran past her. I am quite shaken up. The pup was 5 months old,a little x lab, they had him at 6 weeks old. I have a gate across my hallway and always put my dogs behind it before I answer my door but it makes you think,it only took a second for the poor thing to be dead. x

our little godsend
How awful for all involved Having lost two dogs to a RTA, these stories always always affect me It's not always the fault of the owners, just circumstances It's easy to say we can be more careful, but it happens so quickly My thoughts are with you

Muriel
So very sad. I do wish people would close gates when they go to other people's doors. Glad you're safe. Rescue Remedy would help.

Ingrid
I can totally sympathise with you, I hit a dog many years ago, it was the worst experience of my life, thankfully the dog survived with minor injuries, which was amazing as it somersaulted over the bonnet of the the car and totally mangled the off side wing. I just couldn't relax until the owner rang me to give me the news. for you Edited June 8, 2007 by Ingrid
