  1. Sally's owner reckoned she would probably be OK to live with a confident cat used to dealing with dogs but will chase them outside.
  2. Haven't posted pics for a while so I hope it works but I just thought you might like these:- .....and this is what my three spend a lot of time doing.....Just click on the picture for the video!!
  3. This is a dog to die for! Brilliant all round.....someone is going to be so very lucky to adopt this dream of a girl.
  4. Megan had a fine night and so far I can't fault her. She's a dream dog, used to living with other dogs so probably not best as an only one. Used to being offlead most of the time and is very obedient so maybe rural-ish setting close to safe open area for walks and play would be ideal. Could probably live with a dog-savvy, confident cat and sensible, older kids who would play ball with her but not be over noisy and boisterous. What a gem!!
  5. Our new OC foster girl Megan joined us today and is going to be a star! This very hairy but gorgeous beardie knows lots of commands and even obeys some of them apparently! She has been in kennels before and also boarded out so has experienced being away from her owner in the past, which should help her settle I think. Healthy, with no real problems (except for mounting my Sonny already and a bit of 'paws-on-the-counters') she should be a dream girl for some lucky person. Form an orderly queue folks cos this little girlie is going to be in demand.
  6. What a gorgeous girlie she is and what fun she is having too. Hope you and she can enjoy many more years of the same!
  7. Very sorry to read of your loss.
  8. Been clear of snow here in South Lincs for a couple of days now. Hard frost and some ice on minor roads but otherwise no problems.
  9. What a lovely, happy-looking girl she is!
  10. Run free at the Bridge, handsome lad.
  11. Our foster boy Eric had lots of 'favourite' toys and definitely went to the pile and chose a specific one to play with each time he was in the mood for playing. He has taken them all with him in a big bag along with a couple of new ones he acquired whilst he was with us, off to his new home on Friday. Wonder if his new sister will learn to play too and pinch his 'best' ones!!
  12. Many Tears have some collies and collie pups in too.
  13. What good news. That will mean one more happy Christmas up there.
  14. You mean there are other dogs apart from greyhounds and lurchers!!
  15. I'd have thought most working collies would only be handed in when they were too old to work any more. Anything handed in younger from working stock would probably be because they weren't up to it maybe. Though perhaps people giving up or retiring might have working collies who we still young and fit enough for the job.
  16. Super update. So glad everything is working out well for you all.
  17. New hiking boots and waterproofs for dog walking at the kennels, which I know I'm going to get as OH has already got them hidden away lovely man!!
  18. We haven't insured ours for years. Just keep a separate account with regular input and hope the amount built up over time will pay for whatever might be needed. So far this has worked fine but we have only had oldies for years and not needed much beyond one broken leg, corns, dentals and the odd Xray, lump removal etc. With younger dogs which play and charge around a lot more so there is more chance of nasty accidents needing major expenditure, I'm not sure how it would work out.

    Antlers

Friend of mine in the USA swears by these as they don't seem to have the risks of rawhide and pigs ears and don't even upset the tummy of one of her older greys which is very food sensitive. I've never seen them over here (well everything is late getting way over here, of course!!) but I'd love to give them a try for mine.

    100 Dogs!

Many people can't control or give enough attention to one!!
  21. Happy to vote for such a cutie as your Dolly!
  22. I think you are right about the walks with oldies. We always do three or four shorter walks through the day rather than one or two long ones and I think that suits them better. Anyway if you have a routine for this the dog has something to look forward to which helps break up the day between meal and snack times! Maybe his paws are not quite used to so much walking yet though, or you need to walk more on softer surfaces till his pads harden up a bit. If you give him a glucosamine supplement that should help his joints stay healthy so he can keep enjoying the walks for as long as possible.
  23. Glad it wasn't just me....but all seems fine again this morning so probably Victoria has been working her magic again.
  24. Thanks but I am already logged in and shown as such on the top of the page. Still no threads showing in Everyone or Rehoming categories Just the top of the page with pinned threads but no other threads listed below as normal. It was working fine for me all day so I'm not sure what's gone wrong. All other sections of OC , Google and other sites are working fine though, so I don't know what's wrong. Maybe if the computer has a rest overnight, all will be well tomorrow!!
  25. Is IIS down again tonight? It's there but not loading properly showing no threads, just categories.
