  1. I am absolutely petrified of wasps I am like a raving loony if one so much as comes anywhere near me (for some strange reason I am fine if one is near the dogs or children - I am much braver then ). Anyway, I looked through the yellow pages after reading that the local council could take up to 3 days to respond and found someone local. He said he would come out tonight. He was here in 20 minutes and it was all sorted within another 15. He took time to explain what he was doing and that the wasps would be lively for a little while, he then went on to explain about picking up the corpses tomorrow so that the dogs do not get at them, just to be on the safe side. I thought that was a nice touch. OH was going to go out there like Rambo with a can of spray when it got dark and the wasp man told him that he probably would have done a good job and killed most of them, however the ones that survived would make another nest near to the old home and OH would find himself doing this on a regular basis - so that is something worth remembering for the future.
  2. This Saturday (12th July) OH & I will be at the Cold Wet Nose Show Loseley Park near Guildford in Surrey hosting a stall for the Oldies Club We have loads of doggie goodies and toys including Greyhound prints by Elle J Wilson and some gorgeous handmade biscuits from Suzie kindly donated. The day itself promises to be loads of fun so if you are going along, keep a look out for us, come and say hello, have a laugh and maybe get a bargain or two and possibly if you are very lucky some Staffie snogs from our doglet, Ollie Greyhound probably won't bother getting up If anyone knows a good ‘stop the rain on Saturday’ dance please start doing it now the weather here has been abysmal!
  3. What an absolutely brilliant idea - it looks magic. At least you won't get sand in your sandwiches You could get a CD of the sea and have that playing in the background. I hope you have lots of fun out there
  4. They are fantastic. I like the single photos best and of the multiples No.1 I am hungry now too after seeing the cream tea.

    Guess Why

That is so cruel................ ....... hanging them up by the ears!
  6. Definately have someone with you so you can have loo breaks - normally as soon as you arrive you will want one! I washed and ironed all the clothes and displayed them all neatly, I was subsequently told by an expert that it was all too neat and people like to have a good old rummage so if it looks too good people are less inclined to sift through. Another trick I was taught was if there are two or more of you, every so often get one person to stand on the other side of your table and shuffle stuff - for some reason if people see one person standing at a stall others gather. Its a trick that really does work. And like someone else has said - have a haggle, but don't go too low, if they are asking they are possibly interested. Even if you have something up for a pound people will always say "50p?" OH always replies "no mate, it's a pound." If you go to a big car boot you normally get the first footers coming round in droves trying to see what you are getting out of your car so don't get flustered at this point even though it can be a bit intimadating on your first go. Most of all take loads of change, carrier bags, something to drink and have fun!
  7. I thought Costco had started to stock this again (since May 08) they certainly have at Reading, but maybe not at all stores. Why not give them a ring and see if they have it in before you drive over there.
  8. Dear Cindy That truly is sad news You have in the time that I have known you always been there for anyone who needed you - so yes perhaps it is time that you took some time out for yourself for a while - but you will be missed and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Without you so many wrong decisions could have been made by myself and OH and I will always be appreciative of the help and advice you gave this household and for the fun you gave us explaining about the antics of Snatch and Ruby and their fab pics. I know you are not gone forever and not from the forums, but take time for yourself, get yourself back on track and bounce back soon to the Cindy we all love Take care x
  9. A beautiful tribute - run free Issie and God Bless. Michelle & Martyn thinking of you
  10. I am chuffed to bits I knew he had a soft spot for Lee. The last task was brilliant. It seemed to have all the elements of past tasks and Sir A sat back to see if they had taken on board what he had been telling them, such as identifying a product, designing, advertising and showing it off and presenting the product to experts (Lee much improved). I think at the end of the day the bottle being so expensive to produce was the other teams downfall, because as Sir A has been saying all the way through, he wants to make money. Can't wait for next year.
  11. Me too, wondering if she went to the next stall and said "I prefer your cakes to theirs over there - they taste of liver!" Well done you looks like you had a good day
  12. Me neither They always look so darn comfortable though!
  13. As the owner of two chooks this is my worst nightmare. Run free babes for Skippy and girl for mum too
  14. You're right think it is a Taxi for me moment now
  15. I think that was definately a "Taxi for Lucinda!" moment. I can't choose, I think Alex gets a bit too touchy at times, Lee is a good motivator and fun, Helene, like Sir Alan I don't think I have seen her yet or what really makes her tick but I am warming to her and Claire we know he doesn't like women that talk alot (remember the Badger she was ace at selling too, but her gob let her down). I think he might go for Lee
  16. I have got two wire ones, one for home and one for the car. One of the best things I ever bought. Kassi uses it as her den at night and makes herself all cosy. The bowl clips on fine and has never come of yet even with all her bed-making antics, plus she can see all round, particularly in the car she can still see out of the car windows. We fold the big one flat and take that on holiday with us for night times away I don't think she would sleep anywhere else
  17. Actually Ollie who is now 12 is getting faster at eating and constantly on the lookout for a treat, she came to us at 8 and seemed to have a take it or leave it attitude to food, now I just about get the bowl down before she pounces in. Slightly off topic - Ollie never puts on weight no matter what she eats (always been very skinny) but sometimes she looks too thin anyone with any ideas to beef her up a bit?
  18. Cher, I don't know you, but remember looking at the pics after the accident with OH and he was as gobsmacked as me that you were ok from what looked like the most almighty smash. We are now both even more gobsmacked that no action is being taken, I can't repeat on here what OH said, but he was furious. I just want to give you a huge and keep hoping that something comes to light.
  19. You're a tough landlady! I can't play or sing in Welsh, which is a good thing coz I can't sing in English either, however since Gavin and Stacey on the Beeb I have learnt a new Welsh word...Tidy! So I am a quick learner
  20. Can't play that on me recorder, but can sing some choice rugby songs - any good?
  21. Not in the least <walks off with major league huff> I shall be down there in June (dreaming again) whilst walking around by Haytor.
  22. Happy Anniversary Snow Hope you have a wonderful day
  23. Errrm as I am the OP I bags the shed. Does it have en-suite facilities? I used to be able to play God Save the Queen on my recorder so we could have a duo going here
  24. Thats it then...looks like if we all win the lottery Abby's little bit of paradise will be very crowded You can boast if you have to Abby, it all sounds wonderful
  25. As it says, if money were no object and you wanted to move, would you choose the sea and beaches or the moors, or even the town. I like to have a daydream of winning the lottery one day and being able to move back down to the West Country, but would not know whether to choose Dartmoor or be nearer the sea as the doggies love both places. I think Greyhound Ollie prefers the sand under her paws. I am sure she smiles more when she is gadding along on the beach, but unfortunately that only happens a few times a year when we are on holiday. What would you choose and who is already lucky enough to have the beach or moors just around the corner?
