  1. # i'm totally biased as i am in love with the breed. so good luck when you do get one i must admit the show opened my eyes and i actually felt sad that i would no longer watch crufts with interest. i am trying to contact Caron Fowler in the hope i can do something to help. its not just for cav's as somebody else has said its all dog's with a domed head that can have the problem. also its a place to start once that is sorted we can start working through the other breeds. also when i saw the GSD i thought he looked like he had bad legs, i am horrified that it is suposed a requirement of the breed.
  2. i have and there is alot of research going to to help stop the condition spreading. it is painful but there ARE responsible people out there breeding the dogs, in a moment i am going to pm you the addres of a cavalier forum where you will be able to find help in finding a healthy dog.
  3. Cav's arent the only toy dog that have SM (as you guessed it i know a bit about this subject) it's slowly becoming known as a toy dog problem. the reason that its only been known recently is due to people like Carol not taking crap from the cav breeders. they didn't want to know and certainly didn't want anyone else to find out. luckily there is alot of work going on to help the cav's. i think the kc need to take responsibility for the good name they are supposed to have. the breed standards are a joke and a sick one at that.

    Bran

the vets said yesterday i should give Peaches some bran to help her not get blocked glands. thing is i was thinking so much about where i could get it i did'nt think to ask how. now she is given dry kibble (with water always available of course) whats the chances if i give her the bran she will eat it?
  6. thats how i started, she didnt seem to mind me picking her paw up. i will try the leaving it after the first time and see how she does. end of the day if it making her unhappy i will probably skip teaching her that as i wouldnt want her to be upset.
  7. the really weird thing last night she offered it to my hubby. this morning she did it first time then walked away.... maybe i should just give up on that one.
  8. yet she will happily stand on her hind legs for a treat.. i will never understand that dog....
  9. thing is a couple of times she has done it. today even first time i asked her she picked up it for me. i gave her masses of praise and her treat. after that she walked away
  10. i have been trying to teach Peaches to shake paws, she seems to have slowly been getting the idea. over the last few days it seems when she thinks i am going to ask her to do it or even if i have she will turn and walk away. i don't think she is in pain as she isnt yelping, she seems happy enough to do other things but this one things . anyone got any idea's why she doesnt want to do this one thing?
  11. i think she is about 4, she might be younger but we have no way of knowing for sure. i love listening to people say nice things about her
  12. she is doing really well, still happier with humans than with other dog's, because everyone we meet is nuts and plays far to roughly. not to worry tho as it's obvious she is happy and thats all that really matters.
  13. only 2 tho snoozing on the sofa I has a pig's ear
