  4. Yesterday I found what Sally, my reactive dog hates most (so far). On our morning walk, I found she hated the sound of people scraping ice off their car windows - poor girl was very antsy over it, but we did manage to get to a safe distance where we did the 'look at the scary thing -look at me- get a treat', training, and she seemed to get it quite quickly. Then Horror of Horrors, someone had the cheek to get in their car and use their windscreen wipers to clear the ice. You know that noise it makes as it scrapes its way across the screen? Well apparently all wipers must die, when they do that! Sal completely freaked over it, and mixed from running towards, and running away from them. There was no safe distance this time. I think Southern Spain may have been her safe distance <sigh>. This morning she was the model of a well trained dog, and everything was lovely again. There were no evil ice and wipers battling.
  5. Oh I like this thread. Last week when it was cold, wet, and windy, it took Sally 45 minutes to do her last poo of the night. I was not impressed. So, I've been teaching her to poo as quickly as she can when we go out. I am doing it by saying 'poo' when she goes, praising her, and giving her a liver treat when she has completed. Last night it took 2 minutes for her to poo without prompting, this morning she was similarly as quick, and she is definitely looking for the treat when she's finished. It is also making long walks easier knowing shes gone at home. I do like the 'shake' idea.

Could someone please explain to Sally why its not the same with her: Firstly, she's not a kitten. Secondly, she's a dog. Thirdly, shes 27 kg of dog. Fourthly, she doesnt fit on my chest,no matter how many times she walks in circles over me. Fifthly,I cant breathe. Help!
