  1. Lots of good thoughts for Marmite. I lost my 12 year old Birman cat in April,. he was literally skin & bone, a month before he had been diagnosed with a tumour, the vet could feel it, so pretty sure what it was. He probably wouldn't have survived further investigation, although he had blood tests which further indicated the cause. However, he didn't really go off his food until a couple of days before he died. I'm assuning the vet has tested for hypothyrodisism?
  2. So sorry to hear this. Sleep well Gus.
  3. Hi Sorry to hear you have lost so many of your babies and it such a short time too. Joey is a stunning lad.
  4. Poor lad, that looks very uncomfortable, although he sounds as if he is in good hands with you. Fly strike is terrible. I loathe flies. Wehn my daughter did work experience at our vets she said there was at least one rabbit a day with it, but it does affect other animals too.
  5. That's fab news, so delighted for you and Billy!
  6. Excellent and hilarious!! Sorry to hear about your git of a neighbour though.
  7. Gorgeous dogs and amazing views. Lucky you havingthat on your doorstep, definitely worth getting up at 6am for!
  8. Oh, bless her, she is adorable. I can imagine you must be so upset. Been in a situation lik this, it is awful, but as you say, you don't want them to suffer. Lots of healing thoughts coming your way. xx
  9. I know. I am of course so relieved that Rachel is coming home, but then feel guilty for the poor families of those who died. It is an emotional rolleroaster and I know Rachel and her friends feel guilty too. They have all been through so much and will needs lots of TLC. They should all have been coming home today I would have been picking her up from Brooksby College about now and they should all have been so excited about their trip of a lifetime. So very, very tragic.
  10. Many thanks for all your kind words an wishes. Rachel will be home with us tomorrow. x
  11. Rachel has just rung me and said she has now been discharged from hospital and they have found them a hotel for the night. She has been in a lot of abdominal pain and they were concerned that she may have had internal bleeding. She has now had a CT scan of her head and pelvis, blood & urine tests and all were clear. She was on a morphine drip for the pain, but now has strong painkillers to take. Apparently she was at the back of the bus where all 3 students were that died and when the bus overturned she was dangling by her seat belt. She managed to free herself and climb out of a broken window. The lad that died was screaming and she tried to help him..... She hopes to fly home tomorrow. Poor girl, what a horrific experience, she was good friends with the lad who died. So terrible.
  12. Thanks. Here is a link to the story from teh BBC website. It is on the TV too. When I saw the bus it made my blood run cold. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/10284966.stm
  13. This is just to let everyone know that my darling lovely daughter Rachel was in the bus that crashed in South Africa. It is on the news. Rach is okay, she was the only one wearng a seatbelt and has abdo pains, probably from the belt, she has had an x-ray and is okay. I have spoken to her. She has been trasnferred to another hospital and will be kept in overnight. Two of her friends have died, they won't tell them who yet. She is due home on Saturday, we may go out to S Africa if necessary. This is such a shock and I haven't stopped shaking. Terrible, terrible thing to happen. She was on safari as part of her course in Animal Welfare & Management.
  14. I have the Dyson Animal which is fab, never had a vacuum cleaner so efficient. Mine started to 'smoke' yesterday, been repaired a couple of times, think I need a new one, but they are expensive. However, I have had it years and it is used at least once a day.
  15. That's sad. Sleep tight Shadow.
  16. I think Animals Asia do a great job and I give a small amount to them each month. http://www.animalsasia.org/ I also like to support Cats Protection, greyhound charities, etc.
  17. Very beautiful and magestic and good timing too.
  18. That's excellent - well done!
  19. So sorry to hear this awful news.
  20. We have Sky+ HD and it is fantastic! I have never had any problems with sky and if the equipment goes wrong, we just say we were thinking of cancelling our subscription and they repair it for free! In my opinion if you are paying a monthly fee then they SHOULD repair it!! I have to say that I think the difference between normal TV and HD is amazing. I watched the Alan Titchmarsh 'Seasons' programme on Sunday in HD and it was just breathtaking.... Recording programmes on Sky+ is amazing and so easy, pausing live TV - incredible and you can start watching a programme you ae recording before it is finsished. I may be a simple soul, but I find this technology incredible!!! Can't comment on Virgin as we've only ever had sky.
