I've complained several times in the past about this particular postie Griff and he's had a hell of a telling off from me too after he was nasty with Archie. They don't seem to want to do anything about him. As the rest of the posties are lovely and often go the extra mile for us I don't want to go to a higher level than the sorting office manager for fear of getting them all told off or sanctioned in some way. Ruby wasn't bothered as the contents were in perfect condition so she said "let it be". She's had loads of pressies. Her staff got her a lovely sponge cake decorated with pencils made of fondant, a bunch of flowers, a silk scarf and a matching silver necklace and ear-rings. Others in her company treat their staff like shite but it's always been Ruby's philosophy to treat others as she likes to be treated and it comes back in spades to her as they are very loyal to her.

Have you ever tried the tanning booth, Griff? where they turn you round like a spit roast? Philip just came back from walking Candy and said he'd been round the field and was coming back down the jitty and met this group of late teen/early twenties standing near the end in clouds of very aromatic smoke. He said they were very chatty and complimented him on the fact his sunglasses matched his t shirt. I said never mind that, didn't you ask them where they got the stuff from?😏

Neighbours 2 doors along, the ones whose collie likes to race Wispa along the gardens, called across to me with a lovely offer. They do not need a delivery slot they booked with ASDA 2 weeks ago as they have managed to go and do a shop. So they have offered me the password so I can use their slot.

This should give you all a laugh...I've been having the odd Tena Lady moment as I've been coughing so hard. I don't have any Tena Lady, but I do have a pack of Bodyform I got when the letrozole caused bleeding, so I thought one of them would do. Unfortunately, being sleep deprived and not really looking at what I was doing, it wasn't until I plonked one in place and pulled up my knickers that I realised I'd got the sticky side against me, not the underwear!

I have had a chat with my sister (not mentioning your name but explaining the situation) because in her years as a minister she has had to organise help for various people in crisis. There should be an Emergency Housing Officer attached to your council who should be available outside normal office hours, and because of your serious health problems combined with threat of violence you should qualify as a vulnerable adult. This would mean that the council are required to provide housing under an Act in 2014. Worth following up.

Anyone who is feeling down wants a laugh and doesn't mind rude language, find Fascinating Aida singing "Dogging". Philip was nearly in tears with laughter listening to them. There is another they've done but I won't recommend that one, it's extremely bad language. Philip keeps in touch with the people he used to work with, and a few weeks ago was Skyped by one of his female friends, saying her husband kept having bad headaches and now blackouts and was going for an MRI scan. She messaged Philip again yesterday, Sean had the results of the scan...a tumour, but until he's seen by the relevant department they wont know if it's benign or not. She was asking how he/we cope with knowing I have serious health issues and Philip told her all you can do is live life as normal, until the day that it isn't. I think that's the only way to deal with things, so anyone waiting on a diagnosis (Griff) or with family or friends in that position, act as if everything is fine and hopefully you'll find that it is. Thus ends the sermon for today.

I can confirm you are no minger Griff, quite the opposite. And Steve is far too complex a person for it to be as simple as not wanting to be seen with you. Think of him as a rescue dog, where you don't know the full background, and with many issues that need worked through gradually. Which you're doing brilliantly.

I'm sitting in the ward but finally my stats have gone up after loads of oxygen, steroids, antibiotics and 4 sessions on a nebulizer. I might get out tonight. They know I am keen to go. I am loads better and feel grand now. Just waiting for dr to OK it.

😂😂 Suzeanna. I know a fellow Cumbrian who just cannot be doing with Geordies. He hates the accent & more than once has been set upon by a drunken bunch of them over here on holiday when he was a young man. He took up genealogy later in life so imagine his face the day he found out he was descended from a long line of them on one branch of his family tree 😂😂😂😂

Just checking all is in order because of the trouble my asthma has been giving me Suzeanna. I was always a very "chesty" child and got frequent bouts of bronchitis & had whooping cough as well as the asthma. Oh yes, I've got my diabetes levels right down and if I continue at this rate I will end up out of the diabetic range. I'm going to go for it.

had a busy couple of days last weekend with visitors but they enjoyed themselves, despite the language barrier. It was their first time out of Romania and were amazed at the shades of green in the vegetation. They have grass for a month or two. Outside that it is too hot or too cold. My nephew went gluten free and says he feels much better for it. He is a PE teacher who plays sport in his free time so needs his health and energy. I cut down some overgrown rhododendrons yesterday. They were taking over the bit of garden. The space is bigger now. Some branches were thick and were difficult yo cut, Last night and this morning I could hardly move my right arm. It is slightly better now but my elbow is painful. JIm is still in a lot of pain in his chest. She thinks it is scarring from the drain removal and should resolve itself. After we told her about our last appointment fiasco she contacted the oncologist and he agreed to another CT and blood test before his appointment on Tuesday. Only problem was the CT machine was broken. It was fixed on Friday so a scan was arranged for Monday. I think she is just being cautious- I hope so. Meantime he is dozed up with Morphine and anti inflammatories and spends more time asleep then awake. I hope you can return to normal life soon , griff. Having nightmare neighbours is no fun. You should be able to lead your own life without interference from people like that.

Just shout 👍 I sent my DNA sample off today though they've changed the collection times so I missed today's collection. It will take 6-8 weeks anyway from when they get the sample. I may be told that I am related to some archaic grain as I noticed a tiny bit of my breakfast went in the pot. I had gluten free flakes made from foodstuffs typical of an iron age diet. They were shite 🙁

lovely lady. she understands why ive got the dogs, thinks its great what merlin and hugo do, and that I trained them myself. said its no problem if I get another dog to train up and replace merlin. my tenancy is secure. and if I have any more problems with the neighbours to let her know

Just got back form a lovely Mother's Day dinner with my son and family and a facetime call with my other son and his partner. Now home with a box of Celebrations from my grandson,

Fabulous hehe ... well, yesterday I really cheered myself up by wearing a long tunic with owls on just to do some warden stuff and birdwatching. I realised that always wearing my Bill Oddie outfit was starting to bring my spirits down. As long as I don't wear anything too bright I won't scare the birds and get dirty looks from the birders. Wearing a bit of jewellery as well. Goodness knows when I will go anywhere to dress up for, so might as well enjoy the clothes I like, and do my best to be fabulous anyway.

Not a very nice day here although it's not raining. It's cold, our central heating kicked in this morning, and awfully grey. I've re-started my diet and lost 5lbs to date. I shouldn't have gone off it during lockdown like I did. I gained a whopping 40lbs 😟 Never mind, I'll get it off. I know I CAN do it now!.

Happy that things ar going well for Henry and May. I watched Paul O'Grady last night. HE was catching up with some of the dogs from earlier programmes. One was a dog that was so scared. To see it gain confidence slowly and end up such a happy dog was quite something. W have spent three days clearing th shed and garage and boxes/tools under the beds. My garage was full.One side was rubbish for landfill and the other side was no use to us but may be to somebody. There was just enough room to walk between the two sides. The neighbour that has been cutting the grass for me had said he would be interested in tools so he came along and was astounded. There were toold and gadgets for everything and he was in his element. H said he would take the lot, including the rubbish, He would burn all the old wood in his stove and then dump what he didn't want when the recycling centre opened. I tis limited dumping at the moment and I was worried how I would get rid of it all before marketing the house. Now I have to tackle the knee high weeds in th garden but it is wet today . I got my hair cut yesterday thank goodness. The onl stipulation JIm had for his funeral was no mention of god, despite his father being a session clerk and him being baptised and a church member. He didn't see how there could be a god with all th bad things happening in the world. It was a humanist service. with music by Queen.

I haven't met someone famous, but I was mistaken for someone well known in Greece! We were in Kos, and as we were walking past restaurants people were smiling and waving at us. I thought they were being friendly, though it did seem a bit over the top. We asked a young lad..about 12 year old..if we were on the right track for the beach and he said "You are on Big Brother!". Erm, no...I'm English not Greek, why would I be on Greek Big Brother? I don't think he was convinced though and we kept getting attention when we went into the town.

WE had a chat about waht would happen if the lockdown was still operating at Christmas what would Santa do. My SIL commented that Santa would be self isolating as he must be over 70 years. After a few minutes grandson replied that he could get someone else to drive the sleigh and the elves could drop the presents off. Tonight he has a written a letter to Pepper-his elf on the shelf- saying he hoped that he did not have the virus a d would be able to come at Christmas in December. P.S. I do not have the virus. Jazz, my husband was a Queen fan . Queen music was played at his cremation.

The foster pups will be arriving on Monday 😁👍

Philip was chatting to Tracy just now when he was walking Candy and she was walking Cookie. She's the one who had a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. She said the healing was going ok but it was still very sore and hurt inside and they just don't feel like hers! He assured her they look fine (strange chats, my husband has!) Then a woman came out of her house, ready to join in the clap for the NHS, wearing her dressing gown and flung it open to display what she was wearing underneath...he said he beat a quick retreat before anyone else joined in! Honestly..it's not safe out there for a male on his own.

Tis freezing here. I did get out in one of the dry spells to tackle the fallen conifer. I couldn't deal with it from my side as it has fallen across the hedgehog zone and end of garden, which always has gate locked to deter intruders. I have lost the key to the padlock! So had to do as much as I could from the cemetery side. Lopped off most of it, and the remainder will not get in the way of anyone under 7 ft tall. A friend was in a panic as her son's chickens were marooned in south Notts. The chook house was up on a high mound and they were safe and dry, but no one could get to feed them. Eventually a young man with a boat agreed to help, and he has taken them enough feed to last a couple of days.

I'd just like to say a big thank you to Griff who sent us a beautiful bouquet yesterday. Griff you are so kind and thoughtful. Ruby and I were most touched when it arrived. Thank you. Suzeanna thank you for your message. You are right. I believe that will happen. Thank you all. It takes another dog lover to truly know what you go through when we loose our pups.

Most dogs seem to like Baroque music. I am gradually persuading Wispa that a bit of cool jazz is OK. The pulis loved opera and I used to play it for them even though I don't care for it. All of mine have objected very loudly to punk, and Mojo launched an attack on the radio when it started to play Anarchy in the UK.

I am very lucky that I have work where I can make a contribution without actually doing much physically. I can't do any of the conservation work or anything like that, and left the sheep team as a regular member as I was slowing everyone up. The people are very good in that they are happy for me to choose what I can do, which is generally hang around and keep an eye on things, especially now that a lot of the sheep plus all the cattle are in a huge field right on my patch. I did notice a young Hebridean behaving oddly last week and flagged this up. He was eating and walking about OK but away from the other sheep and just looked confused and anxious. Turned out that he is very short sighted and could not see the other sheep in such a big field. Poor thing kept getting lost. He has been moved to another group in a small field and has settled well now that he can find his flockmates. I can also be an extra person for health and safety reasons, if someone is working alone on the reserve with machinery and requires someone else to be present in case of accident. Likewise with the Muddy Fork project. I cannot do any heavy work but I can water during the summer, and no one asks me to do more.

Settled nicely into our caravan just before rain started. Snug as bugs. Tiring journey with jams, delays and a lengthy detour but we got here in the end. Tomorrow we intend to do nothing at all.

That sounds perfect Owl Had my phone appointment with my own GP. First thing she said was "wow, you gave everyone a scare last week". Anyway she's booked me in to the asthma clinic on Tuesday just before my flu jab appointment but told me if I start having any sort of problem before then to call. Receptionists know to put me right through.

Tesco delivery came today..a driver I haven't seen for ages. His first words? Oh, glad to see you're still alive! Yes, me too! He was the one who made a delivery the day after I'd been told I was now stage 4..and the next thing I knew he and a woman from Tesco arrived on the doorstep with a lovely bouquet of flowers. Made me cry, and her too apparently. Last conversation I had with a cop was after I was flashed by the local..flasher. Francis (cop) came to take my statement and we both got the giggles about it, especially when he said the suspect said he had an allergy and he got it out to cool it down!

I've been to the doc's and have to have a chest x-ray at our local cottage hospital. My GP put the x-ray request in the computer system. The radiographer is at the hospital every morning 9.30 to 12.30, no appointment necessary, just turn up and you'll be seen. Brill!

Oh I've just thought of another. My youngest sister bought me a tube of toothpaste made for dentures one Christmas. I don't have dentures. She was only 7 or 8 at the time and chose my gift herself so it does mitigate the naffness somewhat!

I did. My mum and dad were lovely. Strict but fair and I had a great childhood. Not much money but loads of fun and lots of love. Late teens/adulthood not so good, but that was my fault not theirs. A rebel without a cause and they bailed me out every time. I won't say there were no recriminations as there was but I deserved them lol. Big hugs to all who had a difficult and unhappy childhood.

Going for a last drive in old car up to river Torne near Epworth for a sunset stroll. Might as well use up the fuel and Wispa loves it there.

at Suzeanne. George and I once chanced on a courting couple in a wood close to were we lived at the time. I had no choice but to walk past them as we were on a circular walk and had done 2/3rds of it by the time we got to them going at it against a tree. As George and I walked by I don't know what possessed me but I found myself saying "afternoon, nice day for it" Thank dawg George didn't feel the need to investigate! A cold nose up the chaps bum might have cooled his ardour a tad

Am in France now. Was raining most of the way down yesterday so a slow drive but the dogs were really good and we stayed overnight at Clacket Lane services. Lovely weather in France today, warm and sunny but unfortunately that is the end of the good weather and rain is forecast for the next two weeks lol. Which is a pain as the garden is like a jungle. Already got 6 garden bags of weeds and managed to mow a quarter of the back lawn before I gave up exhausted. Can see lots of soggy gardening happening. Off to catch up now and see what you've all been up to xx

Not hayfever is it Jazz? They are saying people who never had it are suddenly developing it. Ask someone to get you some antihistamine eye drops if you don't have them already. I emailed Philip to tell him the bird seed is coming today and got this back just now.. Found a note outside signed by all our visitors, both feathered and furry, saying “ We are most disappointed with this feeding station. The availability of good quality nosh has declined over the last few days, to the point that we have visited and even the little tubes that hold our seed aren’t even there. Please improve the service immediately” Lucky me, found a man who's as mad as I am!

Thanks ladies, yes I am. We went down to Lancing yesterday to visit my son and family (we survived, just!) and I got various things from them, then my daughter has given me a large chocolate easter egg, with easter crossed out and happy birthday instead, and a Groupon voucher for Philip and me for an afternoon tea at the New Bath Hotel at Matlock Bath. Tea in bed from Philip, a big bottle of Baileys and flowers but whatever I want when I decide what it is! We're meeting my daughter and her other half in a bit for a drink then back to theirs for coffee and cakes, then a Chinese takeaway tonight and prosecco. Enjoying my day, especially the fact I'm still here to enjoy it!

The day I don't go to the reserve, a pair of cranes appear! Hope they are still there in the morning.
