owl
Thank you Amy, we had a great time. Besides forgetting yet again to hand over a bottle of wine which is trying in vain to reach Sarah, we seem to have Wiggle's tennis ball I decided to go and do a recce afterwards on the other side of the estuary, so headed for Merthyr Mawr beach, which you reach via Candleston Woods. The route went along a single track road past some beautiful thatched cottages, and down to a woodland car park. There was a fee of £1.50, but enough space and lots of shade, plus basic loos and a snack van. We walked along the riverside, much to Wispa's delight and the annoyance of a number of wild geese, and eventually reached the bach where Wispa went swimming with a choccy lab. Then we made our way back through the dunes and rested awhile in the shady car park before having a quiet journey home with not much traffic. It's a great place to go, but a very long walk to the beach so might be rather exhausting for any Fugees driving a long distance as well. You have to watch out for horses among the dunes. Dogs slept all the way home, ate supper, now crashed out completely.

Nettie
Brilliant pics, looks like a great day, sorry we missed it. I'm thinking maybe of planning a beach walk to West Wittering on the Sussex coast, a little bit nearer to us in the Southeast corner of the UK. Will start a new thread.
