Pendlewitch
Inspired by the golf ball eating dog! Jumble is a collector but usually confines himself to plastic bottles and 4ft long branches, today he arrived back to me quite delighted with himself and with a string bag of 3 onions in his mouth! As he's chomper they didn't stay there long! What's your dogs best item?

Spins4me
Our first Spinone, Bella (now at the Bridge) was a real forager. She liked food items but just to carry rather than eat. Among other things she brought home a half full carton of milk, a bag of chips and a large french bread sandwich (not all at the same time). She wouldn't let us take them off her but walked about holding them for ages until she got fed up with them and dropped them, usually in the middle of the living room casrpet
blackmagic
When I was a child the man living at the end of our street kept chickens. He often left the gates open and the chickens would wander about on the street - no traffic in theses days! In these days dogs roamed at will. One day a man knocked at the door to tell my parents that their dog had a chicken. They went through to the kitchen to find a very upset chicken squawking and racing around the kitchen. My father retrieved it and put it safely back in the yard. There was a trail of feathers down the street from the chicken flapping about while in the dog's mouth. Another day my mother was shopping and the dog was walking beside her - no leads in these days. A woman walking in front her had her shopping in one those open baskets. On top was a bakers paper bag. Our dog carefully reached forward and lifted the bag off the basket, without the woman knowing. Inside was a cream sponge. I never found out what action my mother took. barb
When I was a child we had a spaniel called Sue, we also kept rabbits. One day Sue brought in a new born rabbit and put in Mums lap, closely followed by three more. A babbit was giving birth over a hole in the hutch. The babies were put back, the hole repaired and the doe reared all the babies. I once owned a borzio and one day in the snow he trailrd his nose through the snow and came out with a £10 note draped over it. Barbara

Lainey
my mil's dog when he was about 10mths old was enjoying a family outing on southport beach- he came proudly trotting up to her to show off his find- a used condom, complete with the evidence. A tug o war between them both resulted in my mil getting showered with the contents - anyone who has been to southport beach will appreciate how far she had to walk to wash it off
houndzrus
Cherry brought this back for us on a walk on a beach in Scotland last year. It was very smelly, but she thought it was wonderful.
owl
At some point, not too long before we rehomed Max and brought him home, an alien. Wot?? A small but very putrid fish was once smuggled into the car. I couldn't think where the vile smell was coming from, which assailed my nose as I was driving. I pulled aside and couldn't see anything, but knew something was going on as 3 dogs were looking very pleased and sniggering. Eventually got home and found the fish which Amy puli had concealed in her abundant cords. Humphrey once brought me a magazine which he found concealed in a hedge. He knows I love to read, it was a kind thought so I gave him a hug and binned it when he wasn't looking. He wasn't to know that it was porn of the kind which wouldn't be allowed on the top shelves. Twas shocking even to a very liberal minded owl
