Thank you ReikeAnge I have to say although I have a facebook page I don't go on very often and am not going to start with twitter ... the forums take up enough of my time I can see now that the recent status updates are just short comments ... I thought they were the start of a message and you should be able to cklick on them and see the rest of it Thanks again.

  8. What's on your mind?

  9. One of the comments made about the article by a member of the public <Punish the offenders by putting them in the pit with the dogs and tie their hand behind their backs!> Not much of a punishment ... they'd get licked to death. Shows how much jo public knows about bull breeds. I agree with ReikeAnge ... scum don't microchip their dogs ... sounds more like a bait dog .... poor poor dog.
  10. So sorry to hear about Gracie Margaret .... she looked such a little character ... loved till the end and with the courage to help her to the bridge when she needed it.
  11. Also part of this girl's run .... what a sweet little dog she is
  12. Great video Could watch it all day I transported this girl and I know her previous owners would be overjoyed to see her running around like this.
  13. What a great job his foster carer has done for Tyler. Well done to her Good luck Tyler in your new home.
  14. I helped to transport this boy and I could have taken him home ..... and I don't say that about many dogs so he is rather special. Sumi am sure someone will fall for your charms very soon. I think Sumi means little dumpling which suits him down to the ground methinks For Sumi
  15. Just be careful with tee tree on little dogs.. http://www.teatreewonders.com/pets.html Rather than give him cod liver oil (which is more for Vitamin A & D supplementation) give him Fish Body Oil (aka Omega 3 oil) you can get it cheapest from Zipvit or more expensive from Holland & Barrett ... give therapeutic dose of 1000mg a day per 10lb body weight. It is an anti inflammetery and very good for skin problems I personally would look into changing him on to raw feeding ...sometimes carbohydrates don't help with skin problems and almost all commercial food is full of carbs. However I think James Wellbeloved now do a kibble with just meat and potato ingredients which might be an idea to try as it will get grain out of his diet. If you want to look at raw feeding try this website http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/BritBarf/ Taking a titre is instead of vaccinating a dog ... he will be wanting to titre him to see whether he still has disease antibodies in his blood so that he is protected against parvo etc ... they do this because with a dog who has health problems they shouldn't vaccinate as it can exacerbate the problems. The titre won't harm him .. however if he's been vaccinated IMO he will be protected fine. Taking the titre is just for confirmation. It sounds like your vet is being reasonable in that he isn't just jabbing him with vaccine which some vets would do irrespective of what health problems the dog has. I have to say that I haven't had much sucess with homeopathy for skin problems ... I personally would go with an holistic vet who will use other things such as diet and herbs. Good luck with him.
  16. Transported this girl .... she look's absolutely brilliant in her foster home... lost a bit of weight methinks? ... and what a fit looking girl she is for her age!!! Let's hope Dynamic Dotty get's an active home soon
  17. I part transported Ollie .... handed him over to Jasmine ..... he was a star, took it all in his stride. He looked to have a lovely life with you..... R.I.P Ollie

    Dumped Rottie

Good post I do empathise with your fantasies of revenge....well thought out... just let me know when you need the help
  19. My old 16 year old girl Shona had a liver infection at 12, she was very very ill and almost died ....she came through it..the liver can repair itself as long as the damage hasn't gone too far. This episode may have damaged her kidneys?? and her blood tests showed that these were deteriorating about 2 years + ago. She is fed raw and I manage her on a low phosphorous diet (quite simple) which I worked out from Mary Straus' excellent website on kidney disease. I have had blood tests done after she was first diagnosed and these were almost normal after feeding her the diet she is on now. Bloods will tell you everything about how your dog is doing with either kidney or liver disease. I can now feed her by eye...as I can tell whether I need to tweak it by how much she drinks. A phosphorous binder powder is a good thing to use for kidney problems (vet will be able to give you this) and I think this has helped Shona a great deal. I use Ipekitine and you can get it half price without prescription off the web..but ask your vet about it first. Good luck
  20. How I agree!!! To my mind this is not an amusing story...this one week old pup was in a wet drain for FOUR hours after being flushed down the loo (or pushed down the loo which sounds more likely to me) and personally I think this woman should be add up for cruelty to animals rather than given all this publicity by rag newspapers and stupid TV editors. Oh yes...I bet she sells all the pups dead quick now .....yes the mother of the pup looks like along legged staff lurcher X type?Somebody should tell this woman about all the staff X's hanging around in the pounds on the brink of being PTS. And what makes it even worse is that the kid is being given all this attention, from film crews and reporters, for having being cruel to an animal. More likely to become a serial animal abuser? I think so. Stupid people
