  16. Lindsey, so sorry to hear that Squeak has gone to the bridge.
  17. Harlestone Firs is 11 mins by car from the Travel Lodge (post code is NN5 6UJ if you want to find route) On the other side of Upton Way, not far from the football stadium, almost directly opposite the Travel Lodge are Storton's Gravel pits that have been turned into a nature reserve. (less than 5 mins walking) Right from Travel Lodge on Upton Way past new housing development Upton 1 are the River Nene and the Grand Union Canal both with walks along side. (just over 5 mins walking from the Travel Lodge) You are only a stone's throw away from Clazuk whose house is close to the lift tower (the Northampton lighthouse)
  18. Lots of speedy recovery thoughts for Sid and for Elaine.
  19. Louise with Boots, Snoopy and her daughter's jrt Emma did a wonderful promo job for the OC. In the photos they've found a pair of jrt poopies and are telling them about the OC. It was a very hot day. We could have raised a lot more money if we'd been selling icecream.
  20. A school governor (think memsahib from the raj type) once told me she thought that it was terrible that capital punishment had been banned in schools. I assume she meant corporal punishment but then again maybe she didn't.
  21. Ours was a Christmas day appointment and we had to leave Sam the cat for surgery - he had a urinary tract blockage and had a catheter fitted. We had to pick him up at 7.30 a.m. to take him to our vets on the day after Boxing day. He spent 3 days at our vets for £100ish including antibiotics and medication for a heart murmur that our vet discovered but the bill for Vets Now was £700+. Catheterising isn't a very big op so I thought it was a bit steep. Vets Now didn't pick up the heart murmur either.
