  1. Did try to do the barf but Spud had the mother of all dia-thru-the-eye-of-a-needle-maria on it
  2. How long has he been on it ?, i use the JWB with no cereal and it's very good at stiffening the poops, but they get a bit fed up with it after a while, and i don't like sticking to the same food all the time
  3. I feel the same a quick kick in the nuts would have stopped him, it's typical Edinburgh attitude i'm afraid, to piggin' polite, where the attack is supposed to have taken place and where his car must have been parked are a fair distance from each other, he would have had to drag that poor dog up a steep banking to get to his car someone would have had ample oppertunity to stop him
  4. Saw this in Dogs Today healthypawsand wondered if anyone knew anything about it ? have sent for a free sample, it looks pretty good, is certified by the holistic society and has rabbit as a protein source
  5. WOOHOO, i really didn't think he would be caught, i'd like to give whoever grassed him up a great big kiss Yes, the SSPCA is a joke, i could tell you a few stories about them
  6. I really can't post what i feel about this waste of space called a man I walk my two there occassionaly i know the place very well, what i can't understand is why no-one did anything more, i'm afraid i would have assaulted that piece of s***, unfortunatly Edinburgh is one of those places where everyone minds their own buisness, i was walking at the same place last year, near the mouth of the river that empties into the sea when i saw a boy of about 13yrs firing stones at the swans with a catapult, there were loads of people standing just watching him, doing nothing, i screamed at him using some pretty colourfull language, he skulked away, why the hell are people so frightened to speak up, someone really should have whacked that man
  7. Poor lad, will be thinking of him and hoping he makes a full recovery
  8. My Bridge boy Louie made two of his very bestest pals while out on walks Sonny, who was a Bull Mastiff cross, and his all time favourite Nemo, a GSD, Nemo was a puppy at the time he met Louie who was about two at the time, Nemo just took one look at Louie and said "Hi ! mr, mr, you be my daddy ?" and Louie being the big sap that he was took Nemo under his wing, they were friends for years and went walks together every day
  9. I have been keeping Terri updated on all your kind thoughts, and she is very touched, she thanks you all very much
  10. The Fat-arsed Bull Terrier A rather dim but good natured creature, with no perception of their own size, fond of squeezing their enormous butts into inappropiate places for comedy effect, commonly known as Niceboyspuddy or Spuddy-two-teas
  11. I'm sure someone did a montage on here a while ago that showed all the bull breeds in rescue, one of the pictures was of a whole litter of Staff pups that had been pts, all lying in a row on a table, i found that photo very shocking, and is one of the main reasons my next dog will be a rescue, perhaps something like that would make them realise the fate of some puppies
  12. Best thing she can do is make sure the mum has everything she needs, she should be on a good quality puppy food, nutrionaly the last two weeks of pregnancy are the most demanding, and mum will need the easily digestable, high calorie intake for the weeks ahead, as an average by the time the puppies are three weeks old the mum should be getting about three times her average food, producing milk takes a lot of calories and ask the vet about a worming program for the mum, this will help minimize the worm burdon on the pups when they are born, they should also be wormed at two, four and six weeks, make sure mum has a quiet, warm, safe place to give birth, and give her a bit of respect, no curiouse visitors or children and keep other pets away, stay close to her at this time, she will need gentle reasurance and support, have the vets number close at hand in case of any difficulties, and if she seems to be taking to long to deliver a puppy get her to the vets P D Q, if she has a long birthing and after the birth is complete she should be offered an electrolyte drink, the puppies should be checked for birth defects and ensure that they are all suckling, the bedding should also be changed and then changed once a day, the owner should also be prepared in case the mum rejects the litter, hygene and disease prevention are very important, try and limit visitors for the first few weeks so as not to stress mum, anyone handling the puppies must wash their hands well. Hope this is what you meant as to advice, i have a lot of dog books
  13. Ailsa What can i say about her to put across what a huge character she was, she was only about ten inches at the shoulder, i always said she was a "my little pony dog" but by Dog could she put other dogs in their place, she who stole food from Staffies and told Dobermanns to knob off, she was a little pocket rocket, always ready to defend family and friends from the big bad world. I know Louie and Celeste will be looking after her, she will be in shock for a while, one second she was here, the next she was gone, but once she gets her paws under her, look out Rainbow Bridge Ailsa has arrived. Much love Anti J
  14. Spud seems to have turned into Zoltan, hound of Dracula
  15. Personnaly i think it's disgusting to allow a dog on the furniture as you can see from this one Daisy isn't actually on the furniture and i would never ever allow a dog on the bed they must of course be IN the bed
  16. Daisy loves pistachio's and is trying her best to like Melon, but she just sooks it into a pulp and gobs the remainder on the floor stuffed olives are a favourite, unfortunatly this does make her a bit of a trumpet trousers
  17. I'm sure they tried this years back in Edinburgh, it got rejected pretty quick, although they did get to ban dogs from cemetaries, which i thought was fair enough
  18. Frosty dumps are way better, if your doing a mass pick up you can get loads more on the shovel, the worst are the ones that have been left in the rain, they seem to aquire a life of their own
  19. Fantastic news, but i'm dubious about it actually working
  20. I find it a bit strange that they are consulting with childrens charities, what on earth would they know about dogs ?
  21. The longest mine have been left was five hours when i got stuck at my OH's family meal, but i would only be comfortable leaving them for three, i don't use crates exept when they are ickle. When my niece had her engagement party Terri made me bring Louie all the way from Fife so Ailsa wouldn't be left on her own she's never ever left
  22. Oh bugger, don't vets realise how worryed owners get ?, well hopefully because he's leaving it a week he dosn't think it's serious, when i found a lump on Celeste they took a needle aspiration thingy straight away and sent it to the lab
  23. Ta daaa it wasn't the Staffs that were the problem it was that grumpy hairy little rat-bag Bruce in the middle, he really is a miserable little sod
  24. I tried it to and mine hated it, they much prefere JWB especially the new one that doesn't have grain it. I read a thing ages ago that said it was the size of the protein molecules that made dogs have the runs, the larger the molecule the harder it was to digest and that pork had big un's
  25. I know it's a stupid thing to say, but please don't worry, chances are at her age it's not the big C, what time is her app at ?
