Healing Thoughts Needed

Recommended Posts

Our newest recruit is Blue (aka Robo-dog, pin leg, skippy, baby blue bear). Blue came to us after being left tied in a field with a badly broken leg, the person that found him took him to the PDSA where he was treated. Unfortunatly the womans other dog didnt get along with baby Blue, which is why he is our new foster dog. Our own vet took xrays and had a good look and decided to leave the pins in until he had heard back from the specialist.

This morning when i got up there was alot of blood on the floor and after close examination of our 7 in-mates it turned out that the pin sites were bleeding quite heavily, so off we pottered to the vets this morning. Our own vet by this point had heard back from the specialist- there were lots of 'mmmm not good noises', 'not good at all' type sounds coming from the vet.

To cut a long story short Blue is going in monday for another op, this may be to plate the leg, re pin it or possibly amputate the leg, depending on what is found to be best for Blue. So could everyone please send good thoughts to our beautiful young man, who isnt feeling so good and is stuck in a crate until monday :(

Thank you everyone for your kind wishes- Blue lovvvvvvvves people attention! (He's a bit of a tart with anyone who can rub his ears in the right place)

He is currently trying to chase a tennis ball, and i feel evil taking all the toys away from him, he loves to play so much.

We are waiting to hear back as to what the vet thinks is the right course of action. In a way i think amputation would be alot fairer. He is only 1 year old and being stuck on total crate rest for months on end would just break my heart. All he wants to do is to run and skip about with his doggy friends :(
