Can I just say that you did everything for your girl and please do not beat yourself up over this decision. I had a situation last year with my much loved 17-year-old cat in which a minor ailment spiralled and a minor decision (whether or not to clip her claws) turned out to be a major contributor to her demise. Its devastating when you are unprepared and you have a tendency to look at all your decisions through a microscope.
