I posted my entry off for dressage this morning *wibble* Am nervous already, am only doing beginners prelim 18, but am really worried he'll turn into a nappy rearing monster when we get there. Am also worried that I won't be able to find a caller

I think we are going to need pics of the connie x ID! Sounds lovely

Wahoo well done for entering the dressage, think positive :flowers:

Ooooh want to see piccies of potential driving pony, he sounds lovely

Have got show jumping on Sunday, am doing 2'3 and 2'6 classes this time so just to be sure we did some 2'9's this evening and he cleared all of them, keeping a nice consistant rhythm throughout. He's been really good with his jumping for the last few weeks but I can guarantee he wont be so angelic when his hooves hit that grass on sunday - im sure Milo the Tank will reappear again

Positive thinking

Keeping everything crossed that Milo remains an angel

Well, my idea to school Blue today hasn't happened. He had the farrier today, and she said she'd be up at 12.30. So I thought i'd get there at 11.30 and have a schooling session with him. Anyway, farrier texted me and said she was going to be there at 11.30 instead, which wasn't a problem, as I'd ride after. Blue had other ideas, he was an absolute pain to shoe, kept snatching his feet off her and knocking the tripod over  He was really spooking at everything and was really stressed.

He has been out without a rug on for most of the summer, and has now gone really fluffy. So I think he was cold, so have put him in his stable for the afternoon with a haynet so he can warm up a bit. I'll go back later and see if he has chilled out enough to ride. Am now in a dilemma though as to turn him out in his lightweight rug as he is a wooly bear, or to put his medium weight rug on as he seems to be getting cold

Driving pony sounds very exciting, can't wait to hear how you get on and don't forget the camera! :flowers:

Yay glad you got your entry off, no backing out now :D Has Blue been out in his lightweight and got cold? Not wanting to encourage people to buy more rugs lol but you can get slightly padded lightweights around 40 - 100g which gives a nice option between light sheet and medium weight

Sounds like the preparations for the weekend are going well with Milo  Do you have a moving date yet?

Lol! As soon as I posted the entry in the post box, I wanted to climb in and get it back again!!

He's mostly been out naked since he trashed his fly sheet. He has had his lightweight on a couple of times, but somehow broke the leg straps on it. So has been out naked ever since. Am liking the idea of a slightly padded lightweight rug. Think that would be a nice compromise!!

Any Magic and driving pony updates. Have either of you bought them yet

Bumble is doing well, fingers crossed. mind you he was a little sh1te the other night. He decided to liven things up when coming in by leaping around snorting and setting Fern and Annie off  Poor Jodie nearly had her arms pulled out their sockets by Fern and i was being pulled everwhere by Bumble and Annie who couldnt remember what walk was

Was 'babysitting' my friend the other day otherwise she wasnt allowed out of hospital due to concussion. She was riding one of her horses on the beach when Saxon felt a bit of rodeoing was needed  Poor Jo stayed on for about 5 bucks then landed headfirst on the sand, Sax then bolted home just missing a car  Jo has neck and shoulder problems but luckily nothing too serious as ambulancemen had her on spinal board etc at first fearing more serious injuries.

CP new yard looks fab, good luck with showjumping :)

Clare glad Loki is feeling better in himself, long may it continue

Look forward to seeing piccies of driving pony.

Gooster good for you on entering dressage ;)

OMG hope your friend is ok  horse riding is just so bloody dangerous sometimes, glad Bumbles good mood is rubbing off on Fern and Annie

No definite update on Magic though in my heart I think im taking on too much atm if I buy him :(

Kyla is going to orthopaedic specialist week after next for exploratory operation, Lily also going to same vet on the same day to sedate her and assess her leg for instability and decide what surgery she needs. My heads all over the place about both of them, worrying about the outcome and what we have to deal with over the next few months as regards recovery.

Just don’t know if it would be fair on them or Magic, I know other people have dogs and horses but it feels maybe a bit too much to be dealing with at the same time.

Financially it would also be quite tight to be honest and with maybe needing to take dogs to hydro etc over the next few months I don’t want to overstretch myself.

Just having major wibbles about the whole thing :(

If I don’t buy him now I’ll keep on with lessons over the winter and see how things are in the spring, if Magic will even still be at the yard, if owner still would sell him and go from there.

Had a flatwork lesson today with new instructor, will take a bit of time to get used to her and her to us as well. Doing leg yielding tomorrow amongst other stuff.

Good Luck on Sunday gooster :flowers: The forecast for here on Sunday is rain - i dont want to jump in the rain :mecry:

Had my lesson early this week as we're out on Sunday, he was fab again. No tanking, no rushing, staying in the rhythm  He's having the day off today as he's worked really hard this week and then tomorrow I will just take him out for a quiet hack or do some flatwork before the show. Thats if I get time - inbetween collecting the lorry, cleaning tack..all those boring things

Ead, I think you are right to hold back, it's easy to get carried away in the heat of the moment!

I'm in a bit of the same situation, OH has advised me (he wouldn't dream of telling me  ),to think very seriously about another horse, i.e the driving pony. It would bring me up to 4 and he thinks with working my incredibly silly pattern and the dogs it would be a step too far, for once I think he's right, and I'm still breaking Banner to drive.

Wanda is broken, if it's her hocks again she is excluded on the insurance and she is lame on the near fore so vetty bill could be a bit horrendous! I do so want that pony though! Stamps feet in an elderly strop!

Wanda goes to horsepital on Tuesday for a lameness workup!

Hope Wanda is feeling better soon :flowers:

Eek dressage is tomorrow!! Bathed him tonight, but his mane was filthy, so have washed that and will try and plait it in the morning. Have ridden the test through twice and he was ok, think our main issue is going to be keeping the canter going. He managed it last night, but our school is smaller than 20x40, so the distance we have to canter is further. Wibble .

Good luck gooster :flowers: Let us know how it goes!

Had an absoloute disaster today. When we went to pick up my friends lorry it wouldnt start :mecry: Tried everything but to no avail. Determined not to be outdone ive decided to hack there tomorrow. It should take me about an hour so not too bad. Ive done all this work and preparation for the show so I am not letting anything stand in my way

Good luck to wanda at horsepital :flowers:
