  1. would be fab! We're using a plastic whippety sized muzzle from Jan's Gifts that's been modified to fit the wider staffy jaws!
  2. Hello all knowing peeps, someone I met recently on a TTouch course is very very keen to help out with rescue work in general. I'm going to send her the Dogstar info since she can do that from anywhere, but she would also like the chance to do some hands on TTouch stuff too. She has a physical condition that means she can be rather unsteady on her feet so not able to dogwalk, and hasn't had a great response from the few organisations she has approached, but I wondered where else I could suggest she try contacting? thanks!!! Mog xxx
  3. thanks all! Will try a size 6 and also trying a small whippetty type muzzle as the regular Jan's Gifts muzzles are a good fit except for length
  4. hello all, sorry for the long absence - just no time to breathe at the moment! Have posted in Dog Chat looking for muzzle recommendations if anyone can help? thanks
  5. Hey folks - sorry for the absence but I'm back to pick your brains. I'm working with a lovely little staff type dog who has bitten someone quite badly and we need to sort out a good fitting muzzle. Teddy has a typical short staff nose but a relatively narrow jaw so the baskerville type for short nosed dogs seem to fit very badly - any suggestions and recommendations would be very much appreciated! thanks Mog x
  6. I'll be going to the York one for definite
  7. oooh - thanks for the reminder, have sent off for a pack to get Farah involved (though I do think its odd you can't use a harness!) anyway, fingers crossed
  8. curious and curious - now that I finally got round to posting that, its suddenly zipping along typical! Thanks for fixing it Cycas
  9. :waves: Hey all - I've been finding it REALLY slow to log into the Refuge for weeks now, worst in Chrome but pretty bad in Explorer too. Is it just me??? Seems equally bad on my office PC and my own laptop, no problems or delays on other sites though I miss you all
  10. Absolutely - though how the system is going to change while they continue to show, and win (and therefore breed), with dogs that are clearly over bred and unfit?
  11. @celeste - definitely buy the books, much better than the series!

  12. Damn it! I'm just not technical enough Fundraiser page
  13. Hello Trudi Hope that Nog will forgive his nasty wonderful hoomans soon I have Skittles. As in the sweets full of SUGAR!!!!
  14. Well, I will be cycling the C2C route with my work colleague Gill (and some other mad people) from Whitehaven to South Shields over three days in May 2010, covering 147 miles and some very big hills. We are doing this to raise money for ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices) (http://www.arc-uk.org/), in memory of Gill's daughter Anna and to help ARC support other families who face the heartbreak of a decision on whether to continue a pregnancy where the outlook for the baby is bleak. There is some info below about the charity themselves, I'm also raising money for them having seen just how many of my friends have gone through difficult decisions relating to their pregnancies in the last couple of years I know this isn't dog-related, but thought some of the Fugee peeps might be interested We will be taking regular pictures to demonstrate our careful training routine [snort] and unless you donate generously we may even inflict lycra-clad pictures on you! Our just giving page
  15. ta muchly! I think I will email to say that only interested if I can see it working before taking it away?
  16. thanks guys! The one I was wondering about has gone, but there's a couple of others which are close for driving too and I'm only bidding up to £50

  18. So I'm decided that my house requires a dishwasher - and I've found a perfect one on eBay to collect in York (second hand). Is this a really bad idea? Do I have any comeback if it doesn't actually work (described as in full working order in the ad)? I know nothing

Definitely worth trying YORKtest as they look for intolerances rather than conventional allergies and have been involved in some research with my uni that suggests their results can be useful for IBS. I've also used them myself and found them to be absolutely spot on. The vega tests and similar are very much a waste of money I'm afraid. Might also be useful to get some support from a medical herbalist or good nutritionist to support your daughter? Lots of love to her
  23. Still in this thread - though hopefully only for another year or so I'm starting 2010 more than a stone lighter than I was last year (now 11st 1lb) and aiming to be another stone lighter by January 2011 I will continue to eat well, enjoy my training/exercise and avoid using food as an emotional stopgap
