  1. Here a few pictures of Carly & Ribena. Carly proving beyond all doubt that she definitely definitely definitely got that contact! Ribena Jumping without knocking the pole off! Carly Jumping.
  2. I get Clean Run from the US which is good for training exercises. You can get an e mailed copy but I didn't know that so I subscribed to the hard copy which comes every month. Have a look at their website which is www.cleanrun.com
  3. They look very smart. You'll have to make sure you have a jumper that matches for yourself.
  4. Well done, I bet you are really proud.
  5. I got nervous when I had to run Ribena for the first time. I think it is probably usual.
  6. We have won a few rosettes and shields this year. My favourite is the shields as they represent a bigger achievement i.e coming 1st or 2nd as opposed to 17th for instance. The prizes Lucy and Meg describes sound great - To win a trophy which represents the sport would be really nice. (I am sure it helps when you have to try and describe to your neighbours what on earth they're for)
  7. Well done Paula, That must take a lot of hard work, training and consistent running.
  8. Hi Sparkle, You need to download a form from the kennel club web site for registering a dog for working trials, obedience, agility etc. You then need to think of a name and send it with I think £12. All the details are on the Kennel Club Website. If you are just starting agility you may want to consider an independent organisations competition where you don't have to be registered and can just enter under your pet's name. On www.agilitynet.co.uk you can find a list of schedules that may include some independent competitions near you. HTH Shaun
  9. Well Done Leonak! Carly got her 1st 1st this weekend at Agility Addicts in the Large Jump and Gamble. An even bigger trophy than the one last month - I think I am starting to like this agility thing!
  10. I think it depends on the closing date of the show. I.E If you win out before the closing date then you should contact the show and tell them to move you into starters. However not having had the pleasure of winning myself I might be talking a load of cobblers. Anyway, WELL DONE!
  11. Wow, well done Wombat! Something for me to aim for then. On a more humble note, Carly won her first trophy at Agility Addicts in August coming 2nd in Elementary Jumping.
  12. What a giant cuddly toy. isn't he lovely.
  13. Carly competed in her clever dogs final yesterday at EMDAC and she won her division. Bless her. This was her 2nd run in the final - she won it 2-0, best out of 3. We had already done 2 other rounds so we were knackered by this time, but she did well. For you flyball enthusiasts out there we haven't done flyball with this style box before so she was allowed to pick the ball up off the ground. Carly Clever Dogs Final Div 5 Also, We entered Ribena into her first agility competition. She has some problems with other dogs so it was a major logistical operation and we were really worried about it. Ruth admitted to feeling sick before we went. We needn't have worried as she did really well. She knocked a pole off in her jumping and managed to get a clear round in the helterskelter coming 22nd. Agility enthusiasts note that refusals are not marked as faults in introductory levels at EMDAC competitions. Below are her rounds, she loved it and was really excited at the end. 14. I think the last one is very true!
  15. Who is the MP for Sedgefield? Natasha Kaplinsky.
  16. I have a see saw. It is fine for the garden, but it isn't suitable to leave outside in all weathers and I don't know if it would take repeated use by rottweilers. My dogs only weigh 13.5 / 14kg. In my opinion the storm and max stuff is good for home use but not suitable for a club. I assume that the premier stuff is KC quality? You could also try adams agility they are at adamsagility dot co dot uk. Storm and Max customer service was good - if you contact Sue she may be able to make something bespoke for you?
  17. Yes, it is difficult to get the dog weaving from a distance - I know from my agility misdemeanours. At least you don't have to worry about doing right hand weaves We have something vaguely similar run by an organisation called EMDAC but it is an agility course in a figure of eight (which you can run with your dog) ending with a flyball sendaway so it is a bit different. I will get a video at the end of August when we go to compete.
  18. That looks good fun, can you have other obstacles such as see saw / a frame / weaves or is it mainly tunnels and jumps? You are very lucky to live in such a great country! I went in 2004 and would love to go back forever!
  19. Carly and I will be there as well. Have a great time, don't worry about how you do - It is just important that you have fun. The shows are pretty laid back, I haven't been to this venue before but I am sure it will be as much of a laugh as the other shows Emdac put on.
  20. Well Done!! Bet you are really pleased. Have a drink!!
  21. Bit late as I have had some PC problems, but good luck!
  22. Sounds like just what I need. Can you keep me informed on when they have a course in putting toilet seats down after you have finished!
