  1. Tags still available, have been unable to update my website since moving which is proving a pain, but obviously happy for Poplar farm to pick up these orders and make some cash from them
  2. that was great Jayne, Blue and you looked great Lovely pics of Rolo Jen, he looks lush
  3. hi everyone, just about caught up - off work with the flu/cold bug thingy so have the time to sit with the laptop and read about everyones exploits. Still riding away up here in freezing Scotland, still helping with the TB mare but riding out a Murakoz mare - basically looks like a highland, behaves like a highland and rides like a highland but is from Hungary - big fat grey thing that can move when she wants to Having fun but not as much time for my Appy boys as I would like, my boss up there is building a big barn so distracted a bit at the moment, probably gonna have stacks to do in the spring but its over an hours drive away now so I cant just potter up for a ride and then come back. Anyway, also on the hunt for a Clydesdale mare, gelding considered if its a good one, so if anyone knows someone who has a nice Clydesdale, broken to the saddle ideally. Its for a friend but I will be riding it so looking forward to that as they are lovely horses
  4. Oh Jenny, I feel like I have always known Nemo as he has been part of my life for so many years. He was a much loved boy by alot of people who never got to meet him,
  5. anyone remember me Have been so busy since moving and just not had time for internet and forums, have popped in a caught up with some of the comings and goings of your horses but just not managed to post cos I have plenty to say have managed to find a horse to ride since moving through here, very soon after moving through I was asked to help out with a nice 15.2 thoroughbred mare due to her owners working hours, she isnt easy to ride but I have been enjoying the challenge. Have had 2 weeks of not riding due to shoe problems so just starting to work her again. Definately on the look out for a nice 16.2 middleweight hunter type/ID as I have all the facilities through here. Offered free livery minutes from the beach or share a field and stabling with the thoroughbred I am helping out with which doesnt have the beach but comes with a hacking buddy and we can share the jobs so will see what happens when the right horse comes along. Still working with the Appys and we had a horrid accident last week and lost one of our young ones, Benito had a freak accident when he caught his headcollar on the front bolt of his stable, paniced and twisted and unfortunately we think severed something in his spine, he was going to be the most stunning stallion and we had such great plans for him. Well thats me for now, going to backtrack about 20 pages and see if I missed any good bits
  6. Nookie is bruised and sore but not badly injured, just hit the sheath and not anything too important, so lots of bruising and swelling but hopefully it should all ease up in the next few days - phew!! Good luck for the show Jackie and have fun everyone, I will be offline for a while during the big move.
  7. Can everyone send good wishes to Nookie, he is on loan to another Appy stud for a month and one of the mares has kicked him in the sheath - my boss has had to rush off and see if he is OK but we are all very worried
  8. is it personal accident/riding insurance you are looking for?? if so the BHS is the best, you join as a gold member and its one of the many benefits Didnt get any spotty pics but did get some lunging vids which I will download, doh, forgot camera but took videos on Mr CS's phone
  9. so pleased for you, thats just amazing
  10. I will take some for you tomorrow if its a nice day as all the horses are fat and happy and out in the fields enjoying the spring grass - lots look completely different from the website pics we took last year
  11. not all leopards will automatically breed colour, we are lucky that our main stallion has very dominant colour and so is pretty much guaranteed to put colour into anything he touches, even solids he has a high success rate with. Also a foal can be born chestnut with socks and blazes etc and change colour as it develops - but it depends on the genes of the stallion. Get them to send their mare up to Nookie, he will fire some colour into her
  12. Appaloosa is a breed and not a colour so you can get solid coloured Appaloosas that are reg'd and graded. Some breeders strive for colour and we are lucky that we breed really good colour, whereas other breeders can have 3 or 4 solid coloured foals out of 6 they breed. The guy we got Hiawatha from breeds stunning solid black foals which are still Appy's - not what he wants but they sell really well as they are stunning. The little bay filly is called Pasadena and she will not stay bay for long, she will colour right out as she grows. Some of our Appy's are born colourful and some have colour thrust upon them in later life - takes alot of getting used to and still totally takes me by suprise as they can change in no time at all. We have a big mare called Cinders, she is a dark brown blanket and she is about 5 or 6 - well suddenly this year all her dark brown has faded and she is an explosion of spots - tis amazing
  13. and thought you might like this one, was out in the paddocks doing some fencing and being helped by the mares - looked up and all of last years foalies had come over for a nosey
  14. Wowser, so much catching up to do, cant believe whats been going on, I will no doubt miss something. Wll done Loki, you are so gorgeous and handsome and WTG Clare, what a great day you must have had, I am so jealous. WTG Kane, he looks amazing, well done Jacky for all the work you have been putting in. Easta looks great, I tried barrel racing a few years ago, its brill. Well the new colts I bought have arrived and settled in really well, they both have fantastic natures and my boss is really chuffed with them. They both need to put on a bit of weight but are lovely. We have sold one of our colts yesterday and I am starting to lunge 2 of our 2 year olds to get them ready for stallion licensing - kind of a 5 star vet check etc before they can become reg'd Appaloosa stallions and hopefully start earning their keep next year. They are both Grade A's so if we put them to our grade A mare we will have stud book foals - very exciting!!! anyway, here are the new boys. this is Hiawatha (yes, its a terrible name and will be changed when we can think of something that suits him), he is 2 years old and will become one of our Heritage stallions this is Bennito (needs weight), he is only a yearling - all that black will come out of his coat and he will leopard out when he's about 3-4 (ignore the paddock, thats just the stallion hoolie paddock so has no grass, they have turn out paddocks and are fed while stabled - in case you wondered how he would get fat with no grass)
  15. Hey guys, just back from Georgia so trying to catch up, did a short trail ride when out there which was fun also if you have 5 mins, this vid is great http://canecorso.com/lorenzo.htm
