Just a quick addition about Virkon. Many people say this is by far the best version/mix of Bleach to use... But remember two points---- it doenst like steel if you use it in a vehicle and do not rinse out properly. The really useful version comes in a powder form...... but has it also has a pesticide content, you may be refused it without producing th e necessary spraying licence, depending how hoe helpful/slack the supplier.. But again onlys as part of a proper cleaning process.

The nice woman that does my swabs tells me that it could be a bad year for parvo because of the weather, with people wrongly thinking that the severe weather has killed of a lot of the virus, and being even more laxadaisical than usual. The way that the Swine flu precautions have been ignored is not a good sign. We have to spread the message . if more people cleaned properly we could all but wipe it out. just throwing bleach around is not enough. A campaign to get people to wipe the handles on supermarket trolleys and baskest with antibacterials is a way of spreading the word. Spread the word not the germ!!!!! Teddy texas loves fishing people. Its very rare that they smell of fish but they do sometimes. Lovely!. Sometimes they sit on the bank surrounded by all kinds of " treats" in tins and plastic containers------ bread , full sandwiches and those little wriggly things that are quit e tasty if you can grab enough. And most of the time the fishers are away with the fairies so that dont notice rat terriers that creep up behind them. Sometimes they walk about but he can still spot them, for mugging purposes, from about a mile away.

I am sorry to say that there is often a "porky" position. I have come across some cases where the stated reason for rehoming a dog. ie "new landlord will not allow". has , upon investigation , not be true. When the landlord is a housing association or council . finding another landlord may mean moving 50 miles away , which is difficult if you have a job.

It concerns me that pets can even be part of the economic equation ( i would beg on the streets before letting go of mine) and also that they can be much of a saving. I am concerned about the number of pets being given up because of housing issues-- I .e. the new Landlords will not allow them. People should be encouraged to ask why rather than just give in. Some landlords dont have a repeatable reason. Some talk of allergies and others of possible damage , both of these are mythical-- I have offered a free End of Tenancy deep clean service to any new landord that relents on the matter ; as well as allergy management advice coupled with mattress cleaniing for donations only to pet owneres ; in my area. I am working on some new plans which include a booklet, but its going to take some time.

Two years for me next month after half a century of smoking and 20 years of trying to pack it in. Having tried everything else ( weak willed , no backbone,lack of character, careless attitude , scruffy thinking)I had to wait for my local people to start supplying Champix Ok yes trouble with the side effects- depression oh yeah!!!! and too many hard sweets took out half me teeth. Ok the smoking was masking the symptoms of asbesto plaques and the smell of stale baccy was masking the smell of wee, I just stopped going in the shop altogether, first by not getting out of bed and then of finding Teddy Texas who cant be left alone. All of the money saved ( after paying for the teeth) is my treat money, although I dont think I could really afford it anyway. But after a while I ran out of things to buy! But the great thing is getting a good sense of smell back, ok it means I have the washer on three times a week , but I am now keeping up with TT and his monster hiking requirements. So If I can do it !!!!

Well the boy done good really hasnt he? I dont think the little jobs that were needed would warrant much by refund etc... he is a pet friendly landlord lets keep on his good side, and hope he keeps well.!
