  1. Yesterday I had a car full of beauties to accompany me to rescue, a 3.5 hour journey but all good travelling companions. First Andrea collected Arnie from boarding in Prescott and met me at Lymm for his ongoing journey, a lovely friendly lad and I got snogs. Arnie. While Andrea was picking Arnie up I collected the other 3 beauties. Dino a lovely babe of only around 7 months old, bouncy and snogs too who didn't want to keep still foor his picture taken, just wanted to play and have cuddles. Then there was sweet little Bingo, terrier X who only wagged her little stumpy tale on arrival and wanted to investigate everything with excitement at being out of the car finally. Bingo. Last but not least was Matriarch Phoenix a lovely laid back old girl who just took everything in her stride. Phoenix.

    Take A Peek

Today I had the pleasure of taking these 3 gorgeous dogs to rescue, a 2.5 hour journey but they were as good as gold and a joy to meet. First there was Schmichael, a rather shy lad who just didn't want to leave and hugged his friend at the pound. I'm convinced she had a little tear in her eye when she gently placed him in his crate for the journey. Then the cheeky but very loving Nick who settled so well in his little crate and loved cuddles. Once out though he wanted to be off for walkies. Last but certainly not least Jemima, a sprollie perhaps? Very loving and very friendly. This little one was clipped to a D ring and travelled on the rear seats in a hammock, somehow along the way she managed to get underneath the thing and behind the front seats, I thought I was going to have to stop and retrieve her but being part Collie the clever girl worked it out and got herself onto the right side again and settled looking over the top at me for awhile.
  3. Thank you for asking, but due to difficulty in getting transport for today Heidi had to stay in boarding as we couldn't get her to her rescue destination.

    Remember?

She certainly enjoys her food and her coat is definitely looking much better and the real colour finally showing through. She is such a lovely girl and life is surely going to be a whole lot better now.

    Holidays

We actually have a narrowboat on the canal and when we go we do take the dogs. All I can say is do be careful around locks, I don't let mine out when negotiating them, though lots of people do. To my mind you can't keep your eyes on the dogs 100% and work locks at the same time. Most hire operators do ask you not to leave the dogs in the boat alone if you moor up and want to go for a pub meal. Dylan my Bc is not too keen when the boat is moving but loves it when we moor up and he can have free running on the towpath. Scampi loves the boat and will jump on and settle on the settee till we stop. Another thing is when mooring up make sure they are inside the boat till you actually stop and don't let them jump off while the boat is moving towards the bank. Well it is something we never do, perhaps I am a little overcautious but well it is my dogs safety and that has to be paramount.
  6. Oh Annie, get well soon sweetheart we all love you. and a big for Teds and Twigs too. Your turn to play nursemaid for a little while Twiggy.
  7. I saw this too and personally although it certainly won't solve any problems I tend to agree that dogs should not be running loose in childrens play areas. My local park doesn't allow it though the rest of the area is OK for dogs to be off lead. I do know of several places where they have a dog exercise area and responsible owners do go along with it but you'll always get some who don't. Where I live it is actually £1000 fine for letting your dog foul and not removing the evidence but still many ignore things.
  8. What a handsome lad and well done Diesel and his owners. A great ambassador.
  9. Ahhh, Lucy how could I possibly forget you, such a sweet and loving girl. It was tears all round when she left you and Dorothy Marion, but what a fantastic and happy home she has.
  10. Yes I do Ingrid, but have no problems with most sites. The other site that uses the same IP board seems to have it sorted now following a small update. Don't know what they did though. edited because my previous post sounded like rubbish.
  11. And there's more. The latest ones and doesn't he look so happy? Makes everything so worthwhile.
  12. I'm not with AOL but use IE and I sometimes have the same problem. Another board which I am a moderator on also had similar problems, that is also an IP board and only started following an upgrade.
  13. I have asked my vet about this and his reply was 'yes you can, but if not cremated the grave has to be at least a metre deep' so mine go in my garden. As far as moving by car he say's that's fine too, although our vet is only 5 minutes away.
  14. It's in my favourites too, don't read it very often but when I do it always makes me smile.

    Sweet Sue

Yesterday I took this lovely GSD girl from the pound to rescue and what a sweetie. Her coat was in a terrible state and she was rather smelly, but what a beautiful temperament. Whether she had been living rough or kept outside we will never know. Although a little suspicious of human contact there is not a nasty bone in her, she accepted cuddles with grace though not really understanding them. Thank you to the lovely lady at the rescue who can also see what a gorgeous girl she is and has already booked her in for grooming on Monday. I can't wait to see the after pics. She travelled like a queen for the 3.5 hour journey, occasionally looking through the rear window and just settled in the car as if it was her right. What a beautiful girl despite her tatty coat. Although a little overwhelmed on her arrival she was taken into foster care with a lovely couple allowing herself to be picked up and placed in the fosterers landrover without a murmer and just sat looking through the window with ears pricked. Good luck sweetheart, you will soon learn that humans can be kind and hopefully that forever home will not be too far away.

    For Melf

I get the dubious task of meeting 6 of them tomorrow.
  17. Don't really know if this helps anyone but it is a statement from the kennel club following the recent sad event. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk./item/825/23/5/3

    Paw Injury

When my Scampi sliced his pad very badly, because of the area it couldn't be sutured my vet prescribed Dermisol Cream. I swear by it the healing process is so quick. You can buy it from http://www.vet-medic.com/product_info.aspx?pCode=DERM5# this is the cheapest seller I can find and it did cost more at my Vet's.

    Spam

I now use mailwasher from http://www.mailwasher.net/index.php which I find excellent, it filters out the spam and deletes it and only the mail you decide is friendly is downloaded to your program, in my case outlook express. You can use the free one but the paid for one has more and can filter and blacklist and report spammers to Spam cop and first alert. Might be worth a peek.
  20. Hornbeam Tree (Good Taste) -- of cool beauty, cares for its looks and condition, good taste, is not egoistic, makes life as comfortable as possible, leads a reasonable and disciplined life, looks for kindness and acknowledgment in an emotional partner, dreams of unusual lovers, is seldom happy with its feelings, mistrusts most people, is never sure of its decisions, very conscientious. Bah, humbug.
  21. Lindsey, just posted this one. Are you copying and pasting the last of the 3 options on Photobucket? The one that starts and ends with IMG not the one that has <img src at the beginning.
  22. to you and the lovely Snoopy, hope he is feeling a little better today. You must both be exhausted.
  23. Goodnight sweet Blue. My heartfelt condolences for Peter, he must be absolutely devastated.
  24. Just spoken to Jasmine who sounds tired but Shammie has improved a lot. Just hope all tests prove negative. A worrying time all round.
  25. to you and your Mum raiye, will be thinking of you.
