Me on the RDR stall, wouldn't miss it for the world.

I have never tried Previcox with Scampi, he has spondylosis and has been taking Metacam which is in suspension form intermittently for the past 3 years at least. At Easter he actually slipped a disc and was on steroids for a few weeks, once those were discontinued he started back on the Metacam after a couple of days which he at the moment is taking daily. I will stop the daily dose as soon as I feel enough improvement is maintained, but at the end of the day quality of life is the most important. Like Mel, I'm wary of new drugs though and only a 90 day trial appears to have been done with Previcox.

Obviously not, poor girl even has to stand and reach up. Better send her here.

What a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to all involved, but glad that Lindsey and her family are safe. Run free sweet Nancy, you never found that forever home but you were truly loved.

I've only just seen this and so good to see Max obviously enjoying his new lease of life. WTG Max. You're a star.

Because Scampi has been so poorly since Easter I have neglected his grooming, (he had a slipped disc which was very painful), as a result he had quite a few mats, some I managed to cut out but didn't feel confident enough to clip him. Well I booked him in with Di (Helly) and today took him so that her groomers could bathe and clip him. I expected to end up with a nearly bald dog, but it shows what the professionals can do. He still has his lovely long coat, and no more mats. The amount of hair groomed out would fill a pillowcase, but his feet and legs have been trimmed to perfection as well as round his eyes. Isn't he the most handsome lad. Thank you so much Di and please say a very big thank you to the girl who did him, I forgot to ask her name, sorry. I am so pleased and know he must feel so much better. BTW he still isn't asleep and has actually asked to go for a walk, so that tired act was a con. Before. After.

Yesterday these two poppets made their way to rescue from RDR. Brando bless him little Beardie type, only around 2 years old, but I don't think he's smelt a comb or brush since the day he was born. He was so matted you couldn't even get a finger through his hair. Despite this he's a happy little soul who's tail never stopped wagging if he was chattered to. Sadly the only way to make him feel more comfortable will be to very close clip him to get rid of the matts. Happily he has gone off to a foster home with a lady who grooms for a living, so will soon be feeling much better. Brando. His lovely travelling companion was Maisey, a stunning Mastiff X, who at 10 months old has already had 3 homes through no fault of her own, just idiot owners, hopefully she will soon find her forever one. She was such a calm and friendly girl and gave lovely snogs with a waggy tail, what a stunner. Maisey.

So glad he's back home. Everything X'd that the results are what you hope for. for both of you.

Healing power of the T shirt or not Paul was there when I needed reassurance, and despite a very busy life took time out to listen to my ramblings on the phone, gave me the advice I needed, so invasive surgery was not done and the conservative treatment has worked. For this I will be for ever grateful. and Scampi is still playing.

No advice Jacky, but it just maybe something about the other dog she didn't understand or like, as Margaret says maybe the other dog gave a low grumble or something which you couldn't hear. My Dylan can be rather scared of some dogs he doesn't know and will avoid them at all costs, but there is one dog living near to us that he absolutely hates and I do know if they ever met off lead he would have a real go at him, it's bad enough when both pass nearby on the odd occasion and on lead.

Oh Billy, I am sorry you didn't have better news, but have just read all the posts and after reading Snatch's story there has got to be hope. Thinking positive thoughts for you both.

And the dogs had a ball.

Some of you may know that at Easter my lovely 13 year old Scampi slipped a disc in his spine, his tail was paralysed and he was in great pain. Well he was treated with steroids for 3 weeks and gradually things improved. His tail started to wag again and although now back on Metacam the improvement has been maintained. Last night we returned to the vet who is over the moon as she felt as I did we were going to lose him. My lovely lad has proved us all wrong and this morning he initiated a game by picking up one of his tuggers. Dylan my BC who is a thief decided it was his and a lovely game of Tug o' War ensued. I just had to take this pic. We are all over the moon.

Lucy accompanied me on one of my transports and at the time I felt so sorry for her, she looked rather worried as Marion knows. Both she and Dorothy were so upset when I picked her up and drove off with her curled up in the hammock on the back seats, but to see her now so happy and enjoying life to the full is fantastic. It's one of those happy endings that makes it all worthwhile.

It was the most wonderful welcome. If only you had seen Tilly on arrival she was such a scared poopie. Thanks to Margarets TLC she is now the most confident and happy dog. I didn't only get mugged by Tilly though but all of them, even Gracie the little special oldie girl came for a little cuddle, and well the differnce in Miss Ellie is fantastic, she looks sleek with a lovely shiny coat now. All those dogs are so happy and contented it's a pleasure to visit.

Just to let everyone know that little Eddie and Amelia + another two littlies were taken to their rescue yesterday. All 4 travelled so well for the 2 hour journey. Eddie. A lovely old lad despite his problems.

I didn't pick them, Scampi and Dylan picked me. Scampi was being dragged along a canal bank, his destiny a watery grave, fate must have stepped in and we just happened to be there at the right time. We only took Dylan out of the rescue for a walk with Scampi to see if they got on together, luckily they did because Dylan flattened himself on the floor on return and refused to go back into the kennel. What choice did we have but to adopt him?

We eat very little meat and when I do buy it, it has to be organic. Eggs I get from my friend who keeps a few chickens and they are scrumptious.

Aren't they both so handsome? These two lads found their way from the pound to rescue yesterday. Both travelled so well in the car with not a problem for the 3.5 hour journey. Kaizer is a great big softy standing around 30" at the shoulder and will generously give a High Five when asked, he also sits on command. Jerrylee although still only a babe of around 15 months is so calm and friendly and walks lovely on the lead, he just loves cuddles and is so friendly. Kaizer. Jerrylee.
