I used to work for hearing dogs .. one of my trainees won hearing dog of the year last year was very proud

The vet rang tonight Taylors lump is a type of skin cancer and needs to be taken off as soon as possible the only good news was the lab tests said it was unlikely to be the type to spread to other parts of her body .... so the op is the 4th of Jan as then i have 3 days off work to spend with her afterwards Does anyone have experience of this type of cancer ? Thanks for your ongoing support guys

The one thing that always strikes me about homeless people and their dogs is that these dogs get to spend all day every day with their best friend

I have worked at the blue cross in Bromsgrove and its a really good place for her to be if shes not got her own home. They do assess for a couple of weeks and sometimes its difficult to get older dogs out to homes but the manager of this place is lovely and very doggy. all the staff care about the animals too. they have a very good rehoming rate and I saw a lot of dogs Ladys age and even older go out to homes in a reasonable space of time. They do a lot of "selling" with their animals and good homechecks so hopefully when they do find Lady a home it will be the right one. They dont foster dogs out as a rule but they will send certain dogs with health problems out on a foster basis to ensure vet bills do not deter the right home. its a sad place to be kennels but there are a lot of loving staff and many great volunteers at Bromsgrove Blue Cross so the girly could be in a worse place. She is lovely ... if only money wasnt an obstacle

We have been to the vets today and Taylors lump on her side has been premilinary diagnosed as not a fatty lump, Its always been there but got noticeable in the last couple of weeks as has got drastically bigger. The vet took some fluid samples out of it with needles .... my old girly behaved perfectly and will send them off for testing .... Shes 11 now and Im so worried about her... shes my soul dog and will end up breaking my heart into tiny peices here she is .... Edited to say she is minus the warty bits on eyes now (they were my last trauma)

I loved these pics I have Winniepig for the first christmas .... we took some getting used to each other and I convinced myself she was not happy for a while before we all settled... I love her so much She was from a cats rescue and hated all the other cats so was a growling beast on our first meet, The OH prickled my conscience by saying .... have the one that no one else would think of ... the pic is her on her first day with us
