  1. i can see this story from both sides but i wonder what others on the refuge think.. The owner of a dog in my area is suing another dog owner for damages after being knocked over in field by the mans labrador...to the tune of 160grand!! Both dogs were off lead and running around in a nearby field used regularly by dog walkers, when the lady called her own dog back they both ran towards her and she was knocked to the ground, resulting in extensive damage to her knee. She has been unable to return to a well paid job and is claiming damages from the Lab's owner..stating that the dog was untrained and boisterous and the owner had no control over it. I can understand her point to a certain degree, her injury was severe and she has had to have a few operations and is still in a lot of pain and discomfort, but, is this not a chance we all take when dogs are running and playing excitedly...i have lost count the number of times i have been knocked flying by either my own Greyhounds or my friends dogs when they have been having a good off lead run around..luckily i have suffered nothing more serious than aches and pains and a severely bruised ego at the sight of me flying through the air as they have taken my legs from me The owner of the Lab is actually claiming that his dog did not make contact with the lady and she did in fact lose her footing and slipped.. but either way i wonder if the onus is then on the lady herself not to walk her dog in an area where she knows there will be other dogs running loose. What do other people think??
  2. Cant believe this girl is still waiting...I'm just too far away unfortunately but more than a little in love with this lady
  3. Thanks to all involved in his transport run today, Whiskey has arrived safe and sound He is a gorgeous collie x Springer and will be 11 years young next month . He has settled in well in just a few hours, has had a nice long walk, some dinner, and then promptly found the sofa!!. He really is a lovely natured boy, not fazed at all by my 3 year old and has decided my eldest son is his best friend and follows him everywhere . There is a definate twinkle in his eye and i think there will be a real playful side emerging in the next few days as he finds his paws, and im convinced he is just a little in love with Molly already ...just now he is lapping up as many cuddles as he can, bless him. A few pics to keep everyone going, more to come as he settles in...
