Does he like vegetables, cooked or raw? If so, you could substitute half his meal for veggies. You could also use raw marrow bones so he's got something to chew on I guess the exercise depends what he's used to, if he's a podger, maybe walking until he's got some weight off, then up to jogging?? The physio I have taken dogs to swears by slow pavement walking and using inclines etc., for building up muscles, not sure whether it's for slimming down though!! Hydrotherapy is GREAT for getting weight off!

What if everyone wrote to the appropriate persons to say that we hope he does get sentenced appropriately? When this happened I felt so sick for the dog and then so pleased that they caught the bloke, I sent an email to Lothian and Borders police congratulating them on getting him so quickly. The Chief Constable responded within a week to say thanks for say thanks kind of thing. Not sure how the legal system works in Scotland - does anybody know who you'd write to - police or courts??

Even though we had dogs my whole life, we always had bitches, the first male dog we had was my lovely rottie Billy. After I had him neutered, I came home one day and whilst greeting him, noticed he had two ball-shapes on either side of his willy. I was very concerned and took him back to the vet and said that I thought they'd missed his testicles and somehow they'd slipped down. I can still feel how my faced burned as the vet explained, in great detail, how dogs get erections and that they are one of the few mammals who use muscle tissue to get an erection, as opposed to increased blood flow and that the lumps were not, in fact, left behind testicles. Oh the shame!
