The house is similar to mine, what we did was convert the garage into a 4th bedroom. Knocked doorway through from hallway. It wasn't expensive to do but this was years ago. We really didn't have to do much, just a window, add a radiator, wiring and plasterwork and flooring. Lots of people have done this around here and many have added a shower-room/loo. If we had built on top we would have needed a double thickness of walls downstairs to take the weight of the extension, we couldn't afford it so went for converting the garage. AnnS

Morrisons the supermarket sells their flower buckets, the large black, almost pail size ones, at 8 for 99p. In our local one they are under the flower display on the floor. Think Asda do as well, you can always ask. These are fine for most things. AnnS

I've got lots of veg in and got most of my seeds from the £1 shop. They had packets containing 6 different veg suitable for containers for £1. Think it was lettuce, peas, carrots, tomatoes and courgettes and possibly beetroot. All have germinated and we've been eating the salad already. AnnS

Another one to consider is the Nissan X Trail, nice and high, has the option of 2 or 4 wheel drive so you can change to suit road conditions. It's very similar in size to the CRV. It's pretty nippy, only thing I don't like is the spare wheel is under the boot floor so have to remove dog guard/tailgate to get at it. AnnS

Bad manners, politeness and courtesy cost nothing. After this mornings walk, horse riders who gallop up behind you on a footpath, and when you ask them to wait till you get your dogs out of the way totally ignore you and charge through like they were training for the blooming Grand National. AnnS
