  1. IMHO I think this thread has ended up being an outlet after a fustrating 1,5(ish) year of people having been treated in a not so nice way and not posting this here in order to not sink to a level others don't mind to do so,but those hurt feelings are still there and will come out at some point,in this case the way RDR has been treated .Never the less, Im glad it finally did and I hope lots of good folks's eyes have been opened, not just on here ,but as many have said in this threat, it's not just about the part the internet plays ,but it's the real world out there that counts, real lives that can be saved and it's a shame something like this is could prevent that
  2. (sigh of relief) aww fanks peeps ,Im so proud to be a Foogy do you all have such beautifull weather? Benji has discoverd the sandppit in our garden and I just got a new mob fone ,the LG Viewty, I love it! got great cam so am off to the garden now to take sum lovely pics to share here later s for you all guys
  3. Caspersmum, I think you have come to the right place here welcome to the Refuge
  4. I didn't got a chance last night to post this Jacqui, what I ment by vast improvement ,was that its much easier to find and closer to 'civilisation' so volunteers are more likely to come help out and more important ,possible adopters will find their way to the new kennels easier too,I mean it's more accessable The other kennels were very well cared for and in in fine condition, I been there plenty of times cuz I done lots of painting them myselfs Coryn, please dont get me wrong ,I appoligize if I came across defending DP 's action, that is sooooooooo not the case I greatly admire every single rescue-person out there ,no matter which rescue they work for or on which forum they post on,THEY go out and DO the job
  5. just taking this oppurtunity to appoligise to everybody about the DP-post,I really put it wrong and hope you guys dont see me wrongly now :( , I really luvs being a Fugee and respect every single one of you and what you do for dogs
  6. have fun at the Bridge boy, untill you meet again  I know how you feel as many of us do, and we're all here to share your pain hun :GroupHug: -xxx-
  7. lol spins4me, cant wait to see those pics and maybe dangeling a nice treat whilst vet (and nurses) are at work ? Ranirottie,I did a bit more research to be sure, but it is the body's natural defense to react to a foreign body, like a splinter or tick-head, in the way of a small infection, hense the suggestion this is due to the tick's saliva or stomach contents, but it's perfectly normal ( unless in a few cases it gets imbedded and needs surgical removal) but you are right in saying you need to get it out
  8. omg!! I soo put that wronlgy,I only wanted to point out that no matter how well we get on with each other or dont, peeps like Ray shouldnt use their power to stop others helping the ones who need it most ,the dogs:(
  9. lol @ supafrisk,no you're not Ranirottie, if the head is left in the skin it shouldnt be cause for concern, the dog's body should work it out like any 'foreign object' in their skin, bit like a spot/zit and if this does happen, its best to not mess around with it, it's the contents of the tick's stomach and it's seliva that cause the problem, but neither can be made once the tick's body is removed Ofcourse if you dont trust it always consult your vet
  10. I don't really care about the politics-side of this ,but I do want to say that I know Roxysmum personally and know from seeing it myself that she has done a lot for our local rescue dogs (and beyond) with all her heart ,I've also personally been invloved with the kennels she reffers to on the other side and believe me ,the new kennels are a vast improvement and a lot of volunteers come to help and do their bit for dogs that otherwise might not even have stood a chance And eventho I know we don't agree on which forum to go on, this would not stop me from trying to help where-ever I can for these dogs ,why can't everybody just put these stoopid politics aside and focus on the important stuff? ALL rescuedogs need help and spreading the word is one massive way to help so if one has the oppurtunity to do so,why abusse this chance of making a difference?
  11. awww good luck then tommorow Flo
  12. the only thing I really would like to make sure ,is that in NO case should you put anything on the bl**dy thing it will make it sick an p*ke in your dog's skin which in turn can cause nasty infections ,if you dont feel confident enough to remove it,take your dog to the vet or some one who has more confidence/experience if you are confident enough ,do a Google-search on different ways to remove them as I know you can do it with a piece of string, just not sure how anymore, but remember, no matter what , DO NOT put anything directly on the tick, only use alcohol/similar stuff for dessinfection after removing the tick Vivian -xxx-
  13. I havent read most of what's posted here ,but Im a pre-modded 'member' too cuz I walked out of line, which in some cases could make a difference between life and death for a dog,or simply fuel and time being wasted cuz someone from far away has to a homecheck which i could have done living only down the road, but cuz of that stoopid pre-modding ,it was ofcourse too late, and yes I did try other routes then dp,but didnt even get a desent reply but what bugs me most is ever since I accindently came across a site ,that mr R had removed later so I cant reffer to it anymore, when I was new to DP about 3 yrs ago, in which the owner claimed that DP WAS NOT mr Ray's idea at all !!!! he had stolen the whole concept and in a sneaky way removed this person out of the way Im still not sure wether to believe this but the more I read about mr R ,the more I am convinced he is not such a nice person AT ALL!! these days I just stick here cuz its must more comfy
  14. that was exactly the first thing on my mind too.....

  17. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7351252.stm I LOVE to take pictures and I know most of you guys do too so after reading this article ,I thought you might find it interesting too to know what your rights are when your taking pictures in public, just in case you get told off by anybody, even police. Due to the rising fear of terrorism and child-abuse even the police seem to have trouble knowing what is and isnt allowed, but it seems that only if they have a court-order,they can not confiscate pictures already taken let me know what you think of it and where do we draw a line with rules?
  18. more good thoughts for your Dad from here too
