New car doing very well, much easier to drive than its predecessor so I feel like going further afield once the days are a bit longer. It has a CD player, the old one had a cassette player!2 points

Yes, not an insurmountable problem. Probably an inconvenience now that family have moved on. He is in foster with 3 Goldens. When I lost Cleo I thought I would not have any more dogs due to age but , having had one or more at a time since 1972 it just didn’t seem right without a dog. I have trained and competed in obedience, studied dog behaviour due to having a reactive dog, and dabbled in agility. I have seen many changes for the better in training dogs.2 points

Had a photo of foster dog having cuddles on the couch- he has made himself at home. Poor Brian but he will soon bounce back. Keeping them quiet is usually the problem2 points

used to love fostering, dont miss it helping rescues but look forward to getting a call myself brian is asleep at last with his doughnut on stopping him from chewing his stitches.2 points

Foster dog has moved on. He has made big improvements but I feel I have done all I can with him. He needs a quieter environment to learn it is not a big bad world out there and he needs other dogs for confidence. He has gone to a hime who have two goldens and are well used to labradors. he jumped into thier car without a backward look. Got a text in the evening that introductions had gone well and they were all playing in the garden. So much for an 'aggressive dog' He is not aggressive , he is that dog that wants to say 'hI', and does not know how to cope with the frustration of being prevented by a lead. He is a foster dog but we are hoping he will be a keeper.2 points

Hiya Rick and I had a chat last night, I will be around a bit more as I have just retired, we are thinking of ways we could maybe try and get a bit more stuff going and try and encourage members back and new ones to join. I will be away for a couple of weeks during June but will get my thinking cap on.2 points

Another soggy dog walk this morning but now the sun has come out. Do you remember Happylittlegreensquirrel? Sam and her husband Mark moved to Sri Lanka to care for the feral dogs and founded the Dogstar Foundation. A link came up on my Facebook this morning and I have been reading about their ongoing work caring for the dogs and cats that roam free. https://www.facebook.com/DogstarFoundation1 point

Hooray, it is not raining this morning. Had a proper sleep last night. I might manage a trip to the shops. I need to change a jumper I bought., but haven't felt like venturing out this week, between having the cold and it being dark and raining. It is good to meet up with friends and have a nice meal.1 point

Doing our best to stay cool today and tomorrow. Laundry out early, bird water bowls filled, hopefully won't need to leave the house until Monday. I did go to the reserve yesterday as there was a get-together and bbq for all reserve volunteers and employees, so I caught up with various friends and enjoyed a nice feast of salad and some home made bread.1 point

I am renewing the roughcast on my house. it was due to be done sometime in September The roughcaster phoned on Saturday to ask if he could come on Monday as he had had a cancellation so had a spot to fill. Suit me. So it will be done next week. The forecast for next week is dry and sunny so hopefully they are correct. I have watered the pot plants as the storage reel will be removed from the fence that he needs to remove to get access to the end of the house. The Fence is slightly inside the boundary. , and cleared the back of the house of table, chairs etc. Take away niht with the family tonight.1 point

After some drizzly showers the sun has come out and the sky is blue. It was a muggy night. The weather seems to have settled a bit for now but it is nit summer. Autumn starts the middle of August in Scotland. When I lived in Buckinghamshire the kids wore shorts or summer dresses to school until the end of September. Got the results of my diabetic eye test today- all clear and will be tested again in two years.1 point

When I had my diabetic eye test in June the girl could not get a suitable picture of eye despite Specavers being able to do it the week before. I was driving so couldn't use eye drops. I made another appointment for yesterday so my son could drive me. Had the eye check and NO drops needed! Was in and out in less than 10 minutes1 point

The rescue my dogs from and which I still follow advertised for a foster for a dog that had been adopted but was being returned due to reactivity to other dogs.None of their existing foaterers were able to take him and they out out a second plea. I decided to apply and have just been accepted.. I collect him on Saturday. In foster when he arrived with the rescue there were no problems but he has changed since being adopted.2 months ago. i hope I can find that find that sweet, lovable dog that he was.1 point
