Actually I must confess it was pretty cool

We got their a bit early and met a couple of guys who have done it before. The son had been given a paranormal kit by his girlfriend which we found hilarious. Have seen things on the tv but you dont expect people to actually have these things. They took a photo of one of the ruined towers and an orb showed up in it. When they zoomed in their was a face in the orb which was kind of freaky. Am hoping they put a copy online so can get a copy.

When everyone was there we had an introduction by the host Claire explaining what we were going to do. We got taken on a historical tour of the castle first but a lady who lived there years ago. In one room Caroline backed out before she really got in there as she found the atmosphere really oppressive. Two other woman had to leave as they started to feel sick. We then had a medium tour. Medium was ok but not brilliant. He explained about spirits who were there inc two children and a angry male spirit. We went back to the top room and a few people stayed outside. Whilst we were inside the spirit causing the oppressive atmosphere had left the room and was wandering about outside in the hallway. I never knew spirits could be smelly lol.

After the medium we got to play with dowsing rods, crystals and EMF detectors. The men took off with the emf devices so we had the dowsing rods. Was really fun playing with them and asking questions. My rods were a bit mad. They crossed over for Yes and went the opposite way for No. When we went to the well they went mad and were clapping against each other chinking really loudly. Afterwards I was told it was caused by an energy basically saying hello Im here lol.

Finally we were split into 3 groups and did work with a glass, messageboard and vigil with the medium. The glass work involved a tumbler on a table and the group putting their fingers on it and a spirits energy moving the glass. We were in one room and not getting much of a reacton and on the other side of the curtain was a loud thud. The decided to do it in that room instead as there seemed to be something happening in there. We ended up with the angry male spirit Sir Walter. At first he pretended to be a female spirit and then revealed himself. He kept disappearing upstairs to the messageboard and coming back. Apparently he doesnt like people being in his room (the one people freaked in) and that he was stabbed in the back and died from it.

We went up to do the messageboard and Sir Walter came with us. He kept disappearing as he was apparently keeping an eye on everyone. He claimed to be the boss of the spirits and wouldnt let any of the others spirits come forward.

The vigil was a bit lame compared to the other activities. Although Caroline is paranormally sensitive and ended up in tears due to a spirit pressing against her.

It ended with a seance with everyone together. We could hear footsteps and things being moved above us in Walter's room. The medium kept provoking the spirit to try and get him to come down and he eventually did with a putrid sweaty smell. He didnt stay long and went back upstairs.

It was really interesting and surprisingly not scary. I would do another one.
