Fee
My little girl is home She's a little bit dopey, but seems to have come through the op and out of the anaesthetic well. They took all three lumps out together plus some surrounding tissue so she has a pretty large wound, we're going to have to take things very carefully with her for a while. The worst thing is that she's terrified of the Buster collar. I know no dogs like them much, but Sophie is such a nervy little thing anyway she's going nearly frantic trying to escape from it She's going to have to get used to it somehow and wear it when we can't watch her Now the wait for the results
Ian
Sorry I missed this somehow earlier. I always hate to read of mammary tumours after losing Jo to cancer which started with one. Hope Sophie & Benji both come through okay
merledogs
The worst thing is that she's terrified of the Buster collar. I know no dogs like them much, but Sophie is such a nervy little thing anyway she's going nearly frantic trying to escape from it She's going to have to get used to it somehow and wear it when we can't watch her I took Milly's buster collar off as soon as we got home and put a toddler tshirt on her, which did the trick. The vet nurse said she had tried to chew the stitches without the buster collar on but she was fine with the tshirt and didn't even try to get at the stitches. The vet nurse I spoke to this morning said she put an ordinary tshirton her dog and then fastened it with sticking plaster (the type you geton a roll) and then vetwrap over that. Might be worth a try for poor ickle Sophie? Sending lots more positive thoughts
melissa
Glad she is home I used an old vest top when Snoopy had a large fatty lump removed, cut it up the back & tied it in several places, she was fine with it she has a bit of a 'turkey' neck bless her so a collar would have been uncomfortable for her. Fee
Hmmm- the T-shirt idea is a possibility - her stitches are very far back, though, more or less in her groin area so I'm sure sure how effectively it would cover them, but I might give it a try and see if I can cobble something together that would do the trick Perhaps I need a pair of shorts - which would be OK until she needed a wee
Tempest
Awwww Sophie so sorry to hear that you've been a poorly girl Sending lots of good thoughts from us Fee - it's so hard when they're poorly isn't it Have got everything crossed here for good results from the tests - the waiting is so tough
griff
what about one of those inflatable collar things just for when you aren't about?? scroll down the page a bit http://www.caninenaturalcures.co.uk/extra.htm
chickentikka
for Sophie, good news that she's through the op and I hope you can find an alternative to the buster collar. Would thick tights with some of the legs cut off work? Fingers crossed for Benji tomorrow
Jacobean
Glad the op has gone well for Sophie and hope Benji sails through his tomorrow. Horrible to have 2 of them at the same time. Hoping for good results for them both and thinking of you all.
Tilly1712
Glad she's home with you Fee and hope you can find an alternative to the buster collar - the inflatable one that Griff has mentioned looks worth a try. Best of luck to Benji for tomorrow
