I live in Brighton and have two gorgeous dogs: Connor, a white GSD, 11 years old, rescued from an abusive owner who used to beat him upwhen he was a pup Tinneke, a collie/dachshund?/mystery cross, 13 years old, also rescued when young For most of my life I've lived with rescued GSDs, love them to pieces, especially adore the older dogs who are so wise and clever ... It breaks my heart to see so many beautiful dogs in need -wish I could help them all But The Refuge is a wonderful place. There's real love here, and it's wonderful to know that there are so many dedicated people working hard to save as many as possible and find them good homes. I used to help out with a local rescue organisation and have seen at first hand how cruel people can be, but The Refuge shows the other side of the coin - just how loving and caring people can be.
