taylor
Iv been looking through websites and found him http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/rehoming/our_d...d=1375&pn=2 I think its a terrible shame that a dog that age and such a nice guy should be in kennels, does anyone know how I could go about fostering him? and at the same time trying to find him a forever home? thanks guys .... greys mum
I think the best thing to do, is give them a ring. Good luck and let us know what they say. He is gorgeous.
Happylittlegreensquirrel
contacting the centre direct would be the best option to get information but I am not aware that the Dogs Trust use foster homes for dogs at their centres ( they do have a foster scheme for dogs where the owners are fleeing domestic abuse but thats run direct from their head office in London )
ReikiAnge
Can't help on the Dogs Trust front but were you interested in fostering for Oldies Club? You mention us in your title?
taylor
I was wondering whether he would be able to become one of the oldies club dogs then be fostered on your behalf ? Sorry I can be a bit Fick
ReikiAnge
Ah, I see He's being rehomed by the Dogs Trust so he is their dog and would be rehomed by them We do feature older dogs on the Oldies Club site for the Dogs Trust, in arrangement with the centre the dogs are at, but we are just helping to publicise the dogs, the Dogs Trust (as for all the other rescues we feature dogs for) still own the dogs and are responsible for rehoming them. As has been advised, your best bet would be to contact the centre Custard is at to see if they would consider a foster or help publicising him
cycas
I think the DT does use foster homes sometimes - at least the Ilfracombe centre used to anyway, and they welcome volunteers to come and walk and socialise with the dogs.

Rachelpirate
I don't know about the other centres, at Evesham we do have foster homes but it tends to be for the extremely stressed/nervous dogs who really can't cope with life in kennels. heva
we have fosters aswell ay merseyside.......just a handful of people that take on sick/stressed or really old ones.......but the staff at the centre do alot of work to push the olies and harder ones to home!!! And i know at merseyside the oldies and young ones get kitchens to stay in which are much more comfy than the kennel plus staff in and out all day!!!!!! he is one of the lucky ones getting a rescue space!!
