celeste
Can anyone recommend a good behaviorist in the West Yorkshire or surrounding area, specifically one who specializes in aggression and one who dosn't use harsh methods
Abby
Jim Greenwood (based somewhere around Cheshire but travels all over) comes very highly recommended on Lurcher Link. He doesn't just do lurchers and does deal in agression issues. It's worth giving him a ring to see if he's ever over in your area. jane-f
Jim's a very good trainer, Ive used him before, he is always willing listen to and work with what ever type of training you prefer, hears a few people opinion of him, http://www.lurcher.org/llink/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24436 he will travel out to you, and is always at the end of the phone or will email you, if you are having problems, he can get very busy as he also helps out at some shows too, and hes always in demand from people, so if you email him give him a bit of time to get back to you, or phone him, hes very easy to talk to, never judges and i think mostly he gives you confidence in your ability's to do the training. jane

merledogs
Have a look at the APBC list of members - that's probably the best place to look (apart from recommendation of course)
Mrs Mop
Have a look at the APBC list of members - that's probably the best place to look (apart from recommendation of course) The ones I have come across I wouldn't touch with a barge pole, they say one thing before you take them on but do something else later. merledogs
Are you referring to members of the APBC or behaviourists in general?
Mrs Mop
Are you referring to members of the APBC or behaviourists in general? Both. I have also been to several trainers to see how they train, said they were all positive but all yank dogs back to get them to walk to heal. Jacobean
It does seem like you are sorted but I do know of a very good trainer in Lancashire who will travel and is excellent. Very kind and positive methods and really knows her stuff.

Lindsay
Val Strong is a good behaviourist I'd say I met her on a course and she did know her stuff. Very no nonsense but very nice with it Lindsay x
