Do you want me to offer him £2K for her? Might be the best offer he gets? Can you afford £2K

I can afford £2k, but its the keeping her over winter, B is short of grazing so I'd not have anywhere affordable to keep her. I just feel terrible about it, I'll send you the link and you'll see what I mean. :mecry:

Aw that's sad Sarah, :GroupHug: been in a somewhat similar position with my driving pony, could not at the time buy back, it breaks your heart though when you want them so bad!

Wandy Woo went jumpies yesterday with her Aunty Sam, clear round supposed to finish at 11am, so we got there just after thinking time for lunch and work in during first class, damn CR didn't finish until 12.15, first class had 55 entries , Wanda in second class, originally 44 in it but they carried on taking entries all through and ended up with 60! Wanda went clear but by now it was 4pm, decided that was late enough, went back to trailer, fed, rugged, booted and loaded, popped back into the cafe for a quick coffee and then set off home at 5pm, the jump off was just being called! What's more there were still two more classed to go, that would have been a seriously late evening for some, was bad enough for us! Still Wanda enjoyed herself, she settled down and jumped really nicely after a huge 3ft in the air bucky leapy bugger off in the warmup and one teararse at the practice jump with her ears in Sam's mouth! Wanda was quite happy with the wait as she had three huge haylage nets to hoover her way through and a vast amount of carrots as a side dish.

We watched one tiny little girl in the 65cms on the smallest pony ever take everything from a trot and pop over nicely, sadly had a back rail off one jump because of the lack of pace but the entire arena went awwww when it dropped and she got a huge round of applause as she trotted out!

*ahem* and where are the pictures  Well done Wanda  I hate to admit it but that is the reason I quite like dressage at least they give times and you don't have to hang around all day, why can't they introduce showjumping with times

That is a horrid position to be in Sarah :GroupHug:

Lokiloo is having his teeth checked today as he is a bit off, can't put my finger on it but something is bothering him, not that you'd know it to ride but a mum knows these things don't they

He has lost quite a bit of condition in a short time, it may be as simple as him not eating much of his hay as it is horrible stuff, going to tackle YO on that tonight, as it is included in livery and we are not allowed to supply our own. I sneakily bought a bale from a livery down the road this morning and OH has just arrived to supervise the dentist and reports he is tucking into the section I left.

We ticked another thing off our "baby to do list" on Saturday  We went to a sj clinic indoors, with mirrors and seating gallery and he was very very good  The trainer was fantastic and I got more from 45 mins with him than I have every had from a jumping lesson, going to save up and have some private lessons when I can.

OH was in the doghouse as he forgot the camera  He tried to make up for it by using my phone to video it is naff and features a pillar a bit too often  but at least I have something from our first indoor adventure together

Does anyone have any thoughts on my saddle, I know the pic quality is awful but not sure if it is pitching me forward or if that is just me, haven't seen my position that bad in a while. Saddler is on the yard tomorrow so going to get it checked whilst he is there. Christmas is offically cancelled this year

WooHoo

Woowhooo! Well done Wanda looks great.

EastaB has hurt her neck and has taken to rearing and bucking when I get on her. Shes has it before its her C2 vertebrae, but after 3 months of building her strength up there its back to square one  e Osteopath is comgi Thursday to try and aleviate the pain a bit for her.

Newt is full of the joys of erm... winter. Hes hyper at the mo its quite funny bless him.

Blondie has started doing ground work again and hopefully I'll start riding her at the end of this week if i get time from work.

Just popping in briefly!!

Pablo is absolutely stunning - despite the dodgy clip!

So sorry about Molly Sarah - hopefully someone nice and sympathetic will buy her - it must be heartbreaking - it was one of my huge concerns when I was selling Rolo.

Wanda and Loki sound like they are going great guns (can't see videos at work Clare - I will cast my expert saddle fitting eye over it when I get home  )

Not a lot to report from us - Rolo continues to go well for Mel, I have not ridden him since I lost dear old Nemo, as I have not had the heart to. But, I had a lesson on my friend's huge mare (17hh!) on Satruday - at the same time that Rolo was beign schooled - and I survived!! Still can't walk straight, but I think I enjoyed it!

We have had one set back - Rolo's behaviour on the lunge has degenerated. We have decided to stop trying to lunge him - it is getting counterproductive as all we are doing is reinforcing a bad behaviour. He really upset himself last week - to the point that he was visibly tense when he was led in to the school this Saturday. He had a very low key schooling session tho - with his old Mum following him everywhere on Big Bertha  , so there was no pressure on him - think we may have to have easy schooling sessions for the next few weeks - it takes him ages to get over any upsets, bless him. :)

Am feeling a little happier over Moll. We have a cunning plan!

Easta is not right, her pelvis is out and her left shoulder which they think has been like that some time now. :mecry: But the chiropractor i used last time thought it was her poll which is where the problem showed as tension but her hips aren't level.

Shes had over an hours of work this morning and is feeling a little sore. But hopefully it will improve.

I rode Blondie on Tuesday and she behaved like a loony 4 year old, jogging sideways down the road, snorting at anything scary it was quite funny really.

Good luck with the plan Sarah :flowers:

I have just had a call from the yard that has left me :( :mecry:   Loki has come in minus BOTH front shoes.

I can't afford for him to keep doing this :mecry: does anyone have ideas I can try? It doesn't seem to make any difference what field he is in or whether he wears over reach boots. This time my farrier has tried hunter shoes on him which have stayed on for 4 weeks, thought we had sorted the problem. I just called him and the first thing he said was that he can't take his heals back anymore, he is at a loss what to do as am I

Glue on shoes Clare? Not that I really know anything about them.

Blondie sounds fun ;). Soothing thoughts to Easta and good luck with the Moll plan Sarah.

How's it all going with handsome Pablo Angel?

I'm missing my boys in the week, best I get is seeing them in the field as I go by on the train to work in the morning. They may be another year older next year but they're just as barmy

What I do get to see though from the train is that when I go past in the morning they're in the same part of the field, normally doing the same behaviour! I know that when I go round at certain times of day, there's a good chance of guessing where they'll be but I never thought of them as quite so routined in their daily tootles !

Clare there is a sort heel protector thingy to assist with the neds that remove their shoes but can't for the life of me think of the name of the darned thing so I'm no use at all really!

Wanda has been clipped again today, have removed her head this time, not literally of course. It was amazing how woolly her ears were! Brought her 400g ruggie round and bunged it on her and her bum was stuck out, strange, thinks I. Had a look and it's only 6'6", not surprised her bum was out so cue Wanda having a rug buying fest, more money! Sigh! Well she did recoup £10 as she sold the small one to Kim!

Bye the way, where's Jackie and the adorable Kane these days?

Just a flying visit from me...

Blue is absolutely fine, although has ripped 3 rugs in the past couple of weeks. One of them is a real mess and I've had to take it to the rug repair shop to be repaired

I clipped him a couple of weeks ago, he was a bit naughty, so has a few tufty bits, but he's much happier and forward going on hacks now, so he looks a bit odd, but he's happier!

I bought him a new bit today, a gold NS starter bit, hopefully he'll like it! Will probably get to test it out on Thursday!

Ug what a horrible weekend :tired:

Loki is poorly with his teeth again :( New dentist came out last week and was shocked at the poor job my previous dentist had done, she worked on him for over an hour but she needed him sedated to complete what she needed to do, but was confident that he would be fine until she is back on the yard in two weeks.

He hasn't been finishing his hay for a while now, I put it down to him being fussy but it got so extreme I bought him some haylage on Friday and he wouldn't eat that either, and watching him in the field he spends quite a bit of time standing and not grazing :mecry:

Left messages for the dentist, but wondering whether I should take him back to the specialist in Southampton as he sorted him last time.

Oh and added to that I got a wake up call at 6.30 yesterday morning to say the yard had been broken into, rushed down to find all the horses and tack were fine, but they stole half the trailers, not mine luckily but still not a nice feeling

Oh Clare. :GroupHug: Poor Loki

I will ask my farrier if he has any suggestions - he is out on Saturday. I think stick ons are a bit tricky to apply - everything has to be spotless etc. When my friend's horse had stick ons applied, he had to be sedated too.

I hacked Rolo out on Saturday! :)

First time since January!

On a lead rope!!! Instructor was leading and teaching me how to sit to him at the same time. I actually felt what it was like to sit properly on him - could not maintain it for long as I was a bit tense and my hips were begging for mercy, but I have never sat that deep on anything before - felt very stable, and at least I know what I am striving for.

We even had a little trot - she made me sit first!! I hate sitting to his trot - mainly because his movement is huge, but she did let me rise eventually!!

Tiny, baby steps, but for the first time in ages, I think there may be hope!

Ask your farrier to look at the balance of Loki's back feet would be my suggestion. I have the same with Easta when I moved down to Wilts, the farriers down there shod Easta too tight in the heel as a means to keep her shoes on and things got worse. I then shipped my remedial farrier down south and he sorted it quickly, shes been fine since.

Had achuckle about your two Linds, horses are creature of habit! Mine get very tetchy if not bought in on time and had their tea at the right time.

I hacked Newt out today which was fun, he can be such a dive. I know why he is suited to Phil!

Easta is ok and seems in quite an amicable mood this week. Blondie is most upset this week as the foals have been weaned and she was quite attached to them as well. Bless her.

Well done Bradders!! Glad you enjoyed it... well as much as you can in sitting trot
