  1. They are not legally allowed to do anything but keep the pups. They are the registered owner with soul responsibility, not allowed to sell or give away the dogs and as far as Im aware if the registered owner died the dog would not be allowed to be passed on even then At least they will be neutered so no more breeding.

    Excited !

Have to agree with ClazUK Ive been there, done that By all means go, have a fun day and pick your favourite pic at the end. You may have to remind them that they are providing a service tohough, dont let them treat you like cattle. But I can also guarentee that youll want more than one pic and they will try to sell them to you at a high price. The company I went with in London, years ago now I later found out that they change their company name constantly because of the bad rep they get
  3. Sneeky lol Congrats on your new addition, hes gooooorgeous!!!
  4. Just be careful because there are a LOT of scams on gumtree (and other sites) that arent always so obvious at first. And also people 'swapping' one dog for another and giving away the dog they have blaming kids/time etc and looking for another puppy at the same time. These people cant be entertained and someimes need to learn the hard way to prevent their next victim pup going through the same traumatic time
  5. Ill be going through there tomorrow (thursday) around lunch-2pm ish if its any help and could get her to mine J1/2 area of the M25 but no further because i dont have the work van tomorrow night

  9. Awww hello Daisy & Duncan, long time no see Looking sweet and innocent as ever
  10. Mich is rarely offlead but hes been on his best behaviour this week so I took him and Harry to some wasteland near the river yesterday where it was quiet and pleased to say that he was an absolute angel. He even listened to the wait command from a distance and his recall was almost 100% but for once he always made sure he kept me in sight. Anyway, I took some pics and thought these were interesting Me being brave but he didnt worry me at all this time Would you believe it was bath day when we got home
  11. She looks amasing!! Loving the updated pics Well done you
  12. Our dogs stay downstairs but Harry has a bed at either end of the hall and will lie in whichever one is closest to us at the time and follow us around if he thinks theres any chance at all of getting food or walks. Mich is a bit more laid back, he absoltely loves his crate but also has better hearing than Harry and is there at the first sound of him missing anything profitable
  13. I had a real bonding day with the dogs and bunnies today. No work, unpluged the phones and sat on the floor with my fury family spending some quality time with them. And I just HAD to share this too. After failing to get Mich into Scrufts last year and being told it came down to the state of his teeth I have been using 'stuff' in his food to break down the plaque but any attempts at brushing with a toothbrush has not gone well and made me very unpopular. But.. today I risked losing a digit and used this lil rubber finger cover with rubber 'brissles' on the end and yummy doggy toothpaste and after some initial complaints we both really started to enjoy cleaning his toothy pegs! I know it sounds wierd but it was a really lovely experience to share with him and really felt like we were bonding and he loved it so much he didnt want to stop. He was so gentle and waited for me to brush his teeth in turn so he could lick it all clean after and do it all over again. *proud mummy moment*
  14. Well you might remember that in the summer I decided to give Hairy Harry a hair cut. Now although he is technically my parents dog he seems to have become my responsibility (except when it pleases them) so I did the haircut at my mums specific instructions not to last time and she hit the roof Well.. Ive just done it again Id told her if they keep up with his grooming so he doesnt get into a mess I wont cut it again. But they didnt and I strongly feel that its not fair on Harry to be dirty and matted, he hates being brushed and like recently when hes unwell due to his grand old age of 14 and a half and had a dirty bum its me that has to clean him up. So... after last time when I thought it wasnt too bad (bit choppy) except for cutting his ears into a girly bob shape and lookin stoooopdid I think ive done better in some ways and not so good in others this time and need your honest opinion/advice Normal, full coat 1st Cut attempt (now i look at it, worse than i remember ) Todays Attempt Its kind of turned out as a bizare long on the face, short front, long middle, short back and long tail I think the worst bit is the bum It was already short underneath because id cut a lot of matting out the first time when it was really bad but the fur on his back legs/bum is like thick wool and matts badly and i think i cut it a little shorter than intended really and had to go with it Also cut it a little shorter than intended around the front but its quite curly there and gets matted under his collar I did cut his tail quite a bit but still looks odd being soft and feathery against the really short wooly fur on his bum. Pretty pleased that i managed to layer his ears this time and not cut it into a bob again. Darent cut the middle any shorter because im already going to be in the dog house when they see him lol So.. overall I 'think' I like it. Tomorrow is going to be bath day now all the matts are out to get all the winters mud and dirt out and then hell probably feel a lot lighter and be much more managable ....I think it makes him look a lot younger, this could be a pic of a pup but the old boy is 14 and a half now!! funny... looks like theres terrier under that collie exterior now too
  15. THATS what hes doing!!!
  16. Yup one here! Even involves mad dashes to several areas and a few turns before (usually the first) one is chosen and then the spinning around Sometimes it can take a good 10-15min though and then another 5 to walk in a circle while doing it ....most frustrating
  17. Oh Sproggie Family Im so sorry to hear about Fraggle Run free at the bridge little one. Our thoughts are with you
  18. Awww lovely idea & some dogs here I dont seem to have 'met' before too! Can I add hairy Harry dog here too? He has started to be more included in my posts but hadnt before because hes not really 'my' dog. Infact I feel sorry for him because hes a kind of 'limbo' dog He was a rescue as a pup with a German family 14years ago now. He stayed with my family and our old dog for his holidays and we visited each others houses so weve known him since he was about 5months when he was a real little terror Well sadly his family grew up and moved out and those left moved back to Germany and they decided that they couldnt take him so asked my parents to have him. I didnt live here then and they initially thought it would be for a year so my parents agreed but that was about 5years or so ago now and theyve only ever visited him once even though theyve come back several times a year as far as Im aware. They say they'll come but dont. Not sure if its not having 'time' or feeling attached again but hes now settled and has always loved it here but I think my parents do resent being left being restricted with an 'older' dog again. Well as soon as I moved back last year Mich was handful enough for me but gave my dad someone to walk Harry with and as Mich has become more manageable 'the dogs' have become my responsibility so ive vertually taken over his care As harry is 14 and a half now he stays at home and potters around with peace and quiet and Mich comes to work with me but when we get home all hell breaks loose and Harry gives Mich a run for his biscuits! And I take them out together on my own and to local dog shows etc. Harry is gettin on a bit now and has a few medical problems that he seems to refuse to acknowledge and you would rarely think him a day over 5yrs to see him but I hope that he will be with us this year to join us on a few rescue get togethers this time and of course the dog shows.
  19. Mich is navigator and drivers mate when we go to work delivering in the van Itd be unbearable without him Oh and edited to say hes in charge of ordering the McD's at the drive through
  20. Mich erm 'clicked' with dlr's Lab Sally while we were in Wales last year... if you can call it clicking Hes always hated Labs so noone was more suprised than me. We also used to walk with a Mastiff and a Staffy girlie and Mich 'clicked' with her too. His 'thing' is sticking his tongue in their ears, he just cant leave them alone

    Help Please

Honestly, I wouldnt risk it. How long have you got... how long is regret when he does attack the child? You say youd never forgive yourself if the child was bitten, the reality is he could kill! I can honestly understand how hard a decision it is but as youve said he hates being left, gets distressed when shut out or with strangers and toddlers around him. If nothing else, its not fair on him living like that. If it were me in that real situation I would try to look for someone with experience and no kids etc etc and if I did find someone i felt I could trust id monitor the sitation like a hawk in his new home because Id still feel responsible. I know its such a hard decision to have a healthy dog put to sleep but lets be honest, what if that person slips up and he attacks again. Other dogs and owners will suffer as a result. If the country wasnt already so over run with staffies and crosses maybe Id feel differently but to be honest, i think the worst decision has to be made at this point. So many dogs with good temperaments are put to sleep, the risk of this unpredictable dog that has attacked several times now is just too higher risk. Unless you are completly devoted to him and would sacrifice a hell of a lot for him, protect him from situations he cant handle at all times which I dont think sounds do able in your personal situation then I think you need to have him put to sleep. Appologies for being blunt but I really feel the reality needs to be said here. Im so sorry
