I put dog food out for the foxes in my area and I know that a lot of people say that I shouldn't encourage them as foxes are a problem in urban areas, but I really don't see a few ripped bin bags as a problem. Plus if they are fed then I would think they pose less danger to other animals, like pet rabbits etc. I've only ever seen one badger in my whole life, so I'm quite jealous! It seems that they are quite partial to fruits and nuts, so that's probably why they are eating the bird food. Poor girl How could anyone do this to a helpless animal? I hope the heartless bastards rot. It sounds like the people in the kennels are just as bad too. I am sure that she will make somebody a lovely pet when she is well enough to be rehomed. Thank goodness that she has you to look after her now. Bless her.

I think whoever is interested should be put forward anyway, there's no guarantee that six people will even want to do it. I will make sure that I am back from work in time to do the quiz, although I am sure that I will be abismal!

Really sorry to hear this, it must be very difficult as a parent to see your son going through this. I am a Connexions Personal Adviser and work with vulnerable young people in the community, but we also run a service in schools. There should be one based in your sons school who can help, even if it means helping you look for alternative provision for him. The Personal Adviser can also advocate on behalf of you and your son if you feel like the school aren't helping. If your son suffers from low self-esteem then they can also help to address this and broker other services, like counselling, education welfare etc. You might also find the Education Welfare Service can help, particularly if you do decide to move your son schools, although I imagine this would be a last resort for you. If you need any more specific info feel free to PM me, I am happy to look into what services are available for young people in your area. Half of the problem is when people don't know what support they are entitled to, but you shouldn't have to go through this on your own.

I know that the correct vernacular is traveller, but this particular family don't travel anywhere, they are stagnent. They were given a piece of land by the council next to a senior school in the area and regularly allow their horses to roam free on the school playing fields and dump their rubbish there. Nobody ever dares to challenge them over their behaviour because they are too scared of the repercussions, and now that seems to extend to the police too. One of the older brothers died recently following a fight and every pub within a 15 mile radius closed down on the day of the funeral because of the amount of trouble and damage to property that they caused the last time. This PC society dictates ridiculous rules about showing resect to the people that show the least to everybody else. I appreciate that pikey is a derogatory word and I apologise if I have offended anyone, it's just a term that has always been used by my family and friends. However, this particular family are total scum and to me they epitomize everything that is bad about the travelling community. I was a bit worried that it would be related to dog fighting too. He is a lovely friendly and submissive little thing so wouldn't make much of a fighter, but could be used as a bait dog. I honestly dread to think. Thanks so much Owl, I really appreciate it. Sorry to bother people with this, but I'm not sure what to do and hope that some of you will be able to offer some advice. In my job I work with vulnerable young people that are often estanged from their parents. I found out yesterday that one of these young people was walking his dog last week when a group of pikeys surrounded him, held him at knife point and stole the dog. He reported it to the police, but they have done nothing about it. There is a pikey site close to his flat and it is very likely that the dog is there, but the police have said that they can't investigate on 'hear-say'. Unlike most of the kids that I work with, this lad isn't the type to go spoiling for a fight and is scared of the repercussions as he has been harrassed by these scumbags before. The problem is, being a typical 17 year old boy, the dog isn't chipped or neutered. The lad isn't even allowed pets as he is in council accomodation, but decided to go ahead and 'adopt' him after his friends dog has a litter . I have told him that if we do manage to get the dog back it will be kinder to rehome him via a rescue, and he has reluctantly agreed. I think he saw the dog as something to love, but he can just about look after himself, let alone a pet (he was feeding a stray cat dog food for a while and thought it was helping, his heart is in the right place!). I thought it might help if I spoke to the police instead, but they were just as dismissive with me. I dread to think what the pikeys reasons were for taking the dog. I am really tempted to go down to the site myself, but I could get in quite a lot of trouble at work if I did, plus I know that it would be dangerous. The dog is a 6 month old Irish Terrier. Does anyone know what other routes we can try?

I think it is a shame that Kandy Rain went out, especially as they sang so well tonight. I'm not saying that Rachel should have gone, I didn't think either of them deserved to be in the bottom. Personally I don't see what the big deal is that they used to be strippers, they were there to be judged on their singing abilities not their past professions. As for the criticism over their outfits, ok it's a family show, but they wouldn't be responsible for choosing what they wear, that would have been decided by the stylists on the show. Plus they weren't wearing anything different to what Lady GaGa, Madonna or a whole number of other pop stars do. I'd also like to add (whilst I'm on a rant ) that Danni, who had the audacity to criticise them yesterday, released a calendar full of topless pictures back in the 90's, something I'm sure she would like to forget, it's a shame she couldn't show the same consideration for the girls. I think the twins are this years answer to Chico, the more stick they get the longer people are likely to keep them in!

I'm all for the online quiz, but I also think that it's important to give everyone a chance. I'm just a bit worried that people who really want to do it will end up being pushed out. Plus, some people might be really good, but not want to go on tv. I'm talking like we've actually got the go ahead, think I need to slow down a bit!

That is sad. He was so young too, his poor family. I have to say that when the twins first got through in last weeks show I was with everybody else, but now I do feel sorry for them. Ok they can't sing, but I didn't think any of them were particularly great last night, so they're not alone there. Plus I'm not surprised they struggled to sing with that energetic routine that they had them perform. Nobody else had to contend with that type of choreography, so they had a tougher job than the rest of the contestants from that aspect. There were also some boos from the audience before they came out, which wasn't fair. I also think that they are deliberately being marketed as these cocky little twerps, I know there's no smoke without fire, but we do only get to see the edited scenes that the producers want us to see. I don't know, I can't actually believe that I am sticking up for them after what I was thinking last week! But I think there are a few in it that shouldn't be. I can't believe Simon sent that Treyce girl home, she had an amazing voice and her audition was 10 times better than the rest of them, in my opinion. Danni's comment about that Danyl was a low blow, but her and Cheryl were also out of order with what they said to that girl group too. I think Simon was right, both of them have carved careers for themselves out of dressing equally as provocative in the past, so they are just hypocrites. Danni's sister's entire comeback was based on the fact that she showed her arse off at every available opportunity in the skimpiest hot pants known to man, and it worked for her! None of the contestants get to choose their outfits, they are told what wear, so it wasn't a fair criticism.

How would that work then? I mean the timing thing? Just a suggestion, but what do people think about breaking the categories down into the ones that they do on the show, i.e. History, Music etc. Then whoever is interested in representing each category can do the online quiz for that/those particular round(s) followed by a general knowledge round?

One year ago today Bouncer passed away. Although he was only with me for a short time, I still miss him very much. He was a lovely, gentle old boy, the perfect gent, and I still think about him everyday. Sleep tight my gorgeous boy.

Just sent my email to be a secret santa I know I shouldn't say this, but I do hope that Ike is one of the dogs that gets drawn from Wiccaweys. I know that they are all deserving, but his story always makes me sad and he seems like the perfect dog too, I can't believe he hasn't been rehomed yet.

I have checked out the links that Michelle posted and I do recognise She Sells Sanctuary. The problem is, I was a child in the 80's so was only exposed to my Dad's taste in music- Ian Dury and The Blockheads (his big claim to fame is that he got to tour with them in the late 70's!), The Sex Pistols, Led Zepplin etc, then in the early 90's I developed my own taste, which pretty much consisted of heavy metal and plenty of it!! It's stayed the same ever since so I am quite ignorant when it comes to other types of music, but at least I know one song! Will have to do some more research. Only one bid so far though
