  1. She should ensure that she gets everything in writing. to show anyone who cant be arsed checking up and tries it on again. maybe even report the prat who gave her the false info and made her fret for a few days. Avoid the public relations department and go straight to the chief constable. Copy to newspaper of your choice. At least it might stop their fun of winding innocent people up with their games.
  2. latest training aid fails...the chalk was eaten. Teddy texas has now been ruling the roost for 6 months. wow , so quick. he still has some compulsions , but were gradually ironing them out. His behaviour during thunderstorms is getting manageable. Ihave discovered that he must have had a damaged jaw at sometime, which would explain the difficultie he has drinking amd eating. His food has to be "roughed up " halfway through as it gets compressed at the bottom of the bowl. He has been to Farmfoods three times and the doctors twice , outside and howling of course, but wiyhout stressing overly. He has even been to the perfood shop and waited inside, quite happy as long as I was in sight at all times. He has been nice to some dogs and some people. He even came visiting with us to Derbyshire and was the perfect geltleman. We have also discovered the Memorial Park in Coventry which is very dog friendly as are thepeople there , which is quite a change from here. All this is good practise for his trip to Chatsworth in the caravan fo rfour days of basket making ( and suntan cream on his nose) His kitchen bed (sofa ) that he had when he first came is now in the living room, which pleases him no end. I think we are getting somewhere and I hope I am getting it right, although I do think he sometimes picks up on my fretting , especially in the a.m .. .. cleans his teeth and then lolls mournfully until I have had two coffes and put my boots on. Here is his poster that his publicity department have chosen now that he has become a well known Brand name.
  3. I really hate having to waste goodness by putting into a little plastic bag, and do occasionally do " weird " things with them and favourite trees /shrubs.wild areas. ( probably illegal although I am the Willow warden) Otherwise its gets taken home and put in the rubbish that goes to the incinerator. I am getting a wormery at home. So I need to find some method of taking it home that means it can be transferred to the wormery. ( the compost is for trees, I use a regular compost bin for food growing.) Any ideas?
  4. We fed the ashes of two collies to the ducks. It was on the bard's Avon and the ducks were the ones that the dogs had an ongoing debate with four times a year for 7 years. The river ran past our favourite camping site ( only half an hour from home in case we forgot anything). We didnt really expect the ducks to do that. Herself uses a pic of them both cavorting in the very same spot for her avatar. She only recently relinquished the collars, to rescue dogs she fell for. Sadly the camp site doesnt allow tents anymore, but then we are now old and have a caravan.

    Toxocarosis

Our local "Community meeting for the promotion of moronic ideas". or whatever its called was very pleased with itself last week. All paid for by the Yellowjackets ( two young gilrs on bikes). The pooheads pointing out that one particular area seems not have much of a problem lately. They are very anti-dog---usually me -- I have taken over the job of benefitting from their derision, previously held by the local Wiccan. (I have taken to blowing a whistle at them and shouting "out demons out" when they get up to their theatrical nonsense in the street.) So if they can solve the problem for that area I think they may spread the solution further. ( They "solved " a parking problem by telling people they could park on pavement outside my front door) So I am expecting the council to turn up with a lorry load of old syringes that can be spread about everywhere, because thats what iis in the original area. Sadly there is no local election , this year , so I dont have the chance to moan at them all via their own letterboxes. A good thing I suppose - i dont want another parking ticket on my hand cart>
  6. Yes . my Zooplus stuff comes via Parcelforce, which are better now than I have ever found them. The chap comes at the same time of day and has got the habit of knocking on the window. If zoo plus could get into the habit of sending the Parcelforce tracking number, you can follow your parcels around on the website;although some of the notes area bit unfathomable. I had a crate " out for delivery " for four whole days over the bank holiday weekend!
  7. Teddy Texas came into my life a week before the dreaded redundancies hit the family. The income finally dries up next month., so I have to look into benefits, but I dont think I am due anything. I can do odd jobs, but only those that TT can attend with me. But fortunately there is a good well established "grey" economy where I live. A lot of it doesnt use "pounds" I think I might get by and hope to maintain teddy to the level which he is accustomed--- well maybe only fresh chicken once a week , but plenty of brown rice ( a sack full for replacing a broken window in the shop) and the boiling of some slightly over the top lamb ( hand sharpening of butchers knifes) Just to be on the safe side I maxxed out a new credit card at a german online pet store and have got quite a stock in the attic . What hurts me the most is that I used to have a lot of surplus that i could spread around a bit to do some good. Its going to be hard to do this nut it is a priority. ( Building a hand cart to sell baskets at local events and come the season , a friday/saturday night " security" job for the local fair provider) I am afraid I am going to be quite selfish and keep TT with me even when I am living in a tent on the roundabout. No doubt I will be told I shouldnt. I lived for two years in a minivan with a mad Belgian shepherd, ok am 30 years older , but TT is wonderful. ( and is starting his own business to help his friends.
  8. But the promo people see him in a different light
  9. Teddy Texas has been trying various employment oppurtunities Builders mate. Basketmakers apprentice
  10. They put a kind of scent in some oils so that they appeal to the boy racers ...sort of Jeremy Lynx., it will linger long after the major parts of the oil have gone. Have the parks people dealt with the spill yet?
  11. Stand Saffy in cat litter for 5 mins and , then wipe with vaseline or liquid paraffin. If its heavy and dirty oil, you can use Swarfega , but dilute it first and make sure non gets licked.
  12. Yes the Oldies club, even if they are full they can help by advertising for a rehoming. They did it for me.
  13. Is he going back? Has he blotted his copy book? I dont know if I should tell Jude , she is talking about going to Wales again asap ( but not on Saturday)
  14. Teddy Texas is an "honorary" Oldies dog. I hope this means he is allowed to be proud about this as much as if he was a "regular" Oldie; so i want to get/make him a coat. I am hoping that his socialisation is well enough advanced for him to attend some events over the next few week. I have to show my face at the Basketmaker's Co Willow walks and a Picnic. Currently he can only be left at home for a maximum couple of hours, and if Jude is about and goes out as well he really creates. So my hands are tied really. He will be the only dog ( 4 mayors but only one dog! it will go to his head.) Anyway before I ramble too much -- Is there an established design that I can get embroidered or screen printed or is there something already available to attach? Is it allowed? I dont think he is quit ready to be equipped with a collecting box like a Railway dog and i cant work out how to make him a sandwich board to putposters on!
  15. I certainly will not. Perhaps you should reread the post properly. I hope that you being insulting was just accidental and not on purpose. I take my charitable activities seriously, its not just a replacement for HRT. I have spent a long time in the music industry so dont take prisoners ( also full of idiots but some may be useful). If you really want to find out about me --use the " search " function. If you can find your way to it. No , back to the point , has anyone got any leaflets?????
  16. No ...I can't really; it depends who asks for what, and of course we dont know which rescues any of the as yet to be recipients of transport equipment, will be doing runs for . We are not always sure of our own. It many ways its a replacement for the donations we were able to make before the dreaded Woolies redundancies cropped up , but I want to make it a bit more than just that by using my own skills and contacts in the world of music and festivals. But this first part; well I am not really sure that it is fundraising , its more about finding ways for people to donate equipment that will ease getting jobs done. I didnt really know what to call it. I was hoping this post would help identify some of the areas of need, especially when we get the shop going properly. The ebay thing allows us to make donations, I think this will initially go to ----- well its easy to work out where was Woollies main northern offices and distribution centre??? No prizes
  17. I am about to start some serious fundraising, to equip the van with all of the necessary equipment. ( and also any other transporters that need such..just ask), hopefully pay for the roadtax, which is due in June. A proportion of the income will also go a rescue I will start on ebay, with a few outlandish offers.... " Buy Two Get One" " Buy Get None " and " For this week only Double the price". So it seems likely that we may only be dealing with people who care about what we do, rather than those looking for something cheap. Now every single sale we make involves Teddy Texas and Daftlad having to push the gardening trolley all of the way up the hill to the only remaining post office in the area. We are not always welcome, especially if they have just cleaned the windows. So to make this a little bitmore worthwhile, I thought I might stick a few leaflets and such in with the parcel. Have you got any ---I dont want hundreds!!!! No charge! I will also distribute them at any shows we do, especially at Chatsworth Country Fair in the autumn . All to be displayed on our wonderful new perspex leaflet dispensing stand that we have acquired, ( well will have , if I can get over it over the fence from the furniture factory tonight). Spread the word, let me know, Ps If I make loads of money Jude wants a chip reader in the van.
  18. You should learn plastering. and then you can give it all a quick skim yourself for a perfect finish.. Its pretty easy and you can get a tuiton dvd. its great fun as well if you have dogs "helping" and a lot less harmful than paint with fumes etc.
  19. Thanks for that . I was just telling jude off for taking no pics.
  20. Oh this is Teddy Texas favourite pastime----molesting people who smell of exotic substance and barking at the neighbours when they use that very pungent kind of homegrown stuff. I hate to think what is old life was like...he even has certain houses earmerked as good for a sniff at the front door. This is actually quite good for our relation ship as I have an allergy to all kinds of illegal herbs, which make my forearms itch like mad. You should check Roly's fur though in case anything is buried therein. TT liked to pooh on top of discarded syringes , and then laugh as I try to do a scoop, whilst feeling very bitter about the fouling laws. Since I have been equipped with my little yellow box and special lifter he has concentrated on the rest of the paraphernalia.----our parks are really good for people wanting to reenact CSI
  21. Teddy Texas chunters when the Rookery starts shouting at him or he finds a discarded methadone bottle.

    Dog Attack

Think of me what you will.. but I cant help noticing that people with names in which the letters dont follow many of the patterns that we are used to-- dont really have a concept of the British and their dogs. I know I dont ....TT bit a man today,( for the third time). The habit of pushing double pushchair and three other small children out into three lanes of rush hour traffic so as not to be looked at by unlucky staffy used to amuse me. I remain, befuddled of birmingham(an egyptian)
  23. These are so cheap I thought of getting some, to help solve the problems we often have on walks. However the local Yellowcoat ( we used to have police ) tell me it is most unlikely that forcing the local rogue pedestrians and buggy pushers to wear them would be appreciated.
  24. I am trying to find any existing research or information on the effects of Officially recognised dangerous drugs upon dogs. Its a hard one too google, so if anyone has already tracked something down I would appreciate it. I am also hoping to put together a demonstration of how to avoid and or deal with needle stick injuries ( used syringe contamination). Does anyone have any stories to share? Thanks for your help. I hope to have results on both issues available late summer.
