  1. Sounds fair enough to me -- just enough to make sure that the human knows he is appreciated (which is important in keeping him trained), but not too much that anyone thinks he's going wussy or soft or anything.
  2. Let's try this again... Whether it's wise to go for a breed that already has a reputation for publishing 'kiss and tell' memoirs is another matter, of course.
  3. In Spring, a young dog's fancy turns to... well, not *that* any more. But good to hear he is getting more lively again.
  4. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/7872104.stm A good news story for a wintry February morning...
  5. Not sure it's anything to worry about at this stage - Oscar has "big food" and "little food" days. If he's still like this in a day or so, maybe then to get worried.
  6. Hmm, "daft geriatric thug" is a bit harsh, methinks. Although, to be fair, it doesn't really describe you, either...
  7. Sounds as if Teddy Texas is definitely getting Daddy well-trained!

What a gorgeous doggie -- and Caleb seems to be getting along famously!
  9. As well as the "official" Oldies re-homings, I think you should also take credit for cases like Texas -- although he wasn't officially an Oldies dog, the Club's help was invaluable in getting him home-checked and re-homed.

Oscar the Wonder Dog had reverse sneeze for a while. If a dog is susceptible to it, it can happen occasionally any time and isn't a problem. If they start having it a lot (several times a day), it might be a sign that the flap of skin at the top of the oesophagus is inflamed, in which case a steroid injection from the vet can help.
  11. It's true -- Oscar the Wonder Dog both (a) knows more people around here and (b) has more presents waiting for him under the tree than me. Best Christmas wishes to both you and Texas. He'll be having a much better Christmas with you than the last few years!
  12. Probably the first time I've ever seen this dog look calm. And, also, the first known photo where he's actually looking at the *$&^!* camera! He looks to be settling in grand...
  13. After our failed attempt to get Texas down to Birmingham by car, Lester was kind enough to arrange to come and collect him, accompanied by Jude and her van. "What's that big white thing, then?" "You want me to get in where?" "Well, OK, but I need a stiff drinkie first." One last look back at the kennels: Safely installed and ready for the trip: Presumed next comment: "Are we there yet?"
