  1. Griffin Beagle has it in his neck and the lumbar region of his back. He was diagnosed three years ago when he was 10. It took a long time to get the neck pain under contol but it did happen. He has been on Metacam for three years but he now only has a maintenance dose each day. He is still able to enjoy long walks but recently we have cut him down to about one hour a day. This I feel is more age related as he is now nearly 13 and a half.

  3. Never heard of things like that Patience never bothered with her stitches at all.
  4. Patience Basset was spayed 3 months ago.She was dropped off at 09.30 and home at 12.30 because she was so vocal. She was unsettled that day but back to normal bouncey dog next day. She only had 2 stitches in total and never bothered them at all.

    Help!

Short legs and large rocks are a problem
  9. In the past I have always bought my dogs. I used to show my Beagles and always aquired a new one from good well bred parents. After I lost Dylan I started looking for a Rescue Beagle without much luck. I now know of the existance of many Rescues but at that time I did not. I saw a Basset on Many Tears site and to cut a long story short Rupert came home. I have had two more Rescue Bassets since then, sadly one was PTS last year for health reasons. I started to look for another young Rescue Bitch early this year without much luck and several dissapointments. I then saw Patience advertised for sale on an Internet site, she was 13 months old, unneutered and prime breeding stock for a BYB as they only asked £100 for her. So I bought her and had her spayed the next week. She is an absolute delight and I do not regret it for one minute. If I had not bought her she most probably would be producing pups that would end up in Rescue.
  10. What a lovely holiday you had Ebbi
  11. Not Elbows but Griff has Spondylosis in his neck and that took Six weeks to get under control with Metacam. He was in a lot of pain and we very nearly had him PTS as we were convinced he would never improve. That was 3 years ago and he is still here.He is still on the Metacam but only has a tiny amount each day.He is over 13 now and still walks for an hour a day.

  14. He is a very cute swamp monster
  15. THe kennels that I board my dogs in will always ensure that each dog eats its own food. They are also happy to administer any meds the dogs are on. Griff has been on Metacam for several years and it is always given to him whilst he is there.
  16. How very sad Sleep tight Berry
