  1. yummy baby welcome to the world baby Alex
  2. My son got engaged on Tuesday . It was his girlfriend's birthday & he proposed at midnight (the old romantic! ) I rang my sister yesterday to tell her & she said she had good news too - her eldest daughter is getting married next April
  3. I live alone (well, with my 2 dogs) and I am very rarely scared. When I was married, I was always afraid if my OH was working away from home and I was alone in the house. Since I got divorced & got my own house I've never been frightened. It would be a different story if I didn't have dogs, but then, my whole life would be a different story if I didn't have dogs.
  4. Hope you have a fabulous wedding on Friday and a very long and happy life together
  5. Your solicitor shouldn't need to do searches if the property has a Home Information Pack. And in any event, if he does need to do searches, you will be paying for them, so offer the solicitor the search fees up front & tell him you want them doing asap (unless there is a Home Information Pack)
  6. As I head at the speed of light towards my bus pass, I've noticed a lot more bristly hairs growing out of my chin. They pop out totally indiscriminately, they have no respect for where I am or who I'm with. I felt one of the little blighters on my chin at work this afternoon. I couldn't get my tweezers out & start plucking in the office, so I had to wait until I got home & plucked the bugger out. As for armpits - I shave them, but not very often as they don't grow much. I've never shaved my legs in my life, they are totally bald! My lady garden simply gets ignored. I can't see it (cos my belly is too big) and no-one else ever sees it, so I ignore it, maybe it's bald like my legs
  7. Cassie and Katie are two Cairn x sisters aged 14 years. Their elderly mum has recently passed away and they are currently being looked after by the lady's son and his wife who are unable to keep them. They would like them to be homed together as they have never been apart. They are both in good health, have been spayed and all their injections are up to date. They are good natured little dogs but due to their age, they would possibly be better going to someone of more mature years. They are staying with the gentleman & his wife for the moment, so they don't actually need rescue "space", so if any rescue can offer rescue back up for these two girlies and help with finding them a new home, that would be ideal. Cassie and Katie are in Leicestershire.
  8. We (Dillon & I) have been to see Marie Miller a few times for T-Touch and general aggressive behaviour issues. Marie is doing a workshop in Hinckley in a couple of weeks time which we are hoping to attend. The details are here: http://www.pawsnlearn.freeserve.co.uk/hinbook.htm. Marie is a member of this forum under the name of Pawsnlearn. I see from your profile that you live in Sheffield, but that's only about 1.5 hours down the M1 from Hinckley, so perhaps you could try & go to the workshop on 20 July?
  9. Even cheaper - use your public library, you can have as many books as you want and you don't pay a penny (well, not directly, you're already paying for it in your Council Tax )
  10. Ouch You have my sincere sympathy. I popped my sacro iliac joint about 18 months ago. I've never had pain like it in my life . Please take things easy for as long as you need to. It will take a long time to heal but it will take even longer if you try to do stuff you're not ready for yet.
  11. She looks very beautiful and there's nothing bad about being a proud mum
  12. I took Dillon to see Marie Miller, a T-Touch Practitioner. She got amazing results with him and showed me how to carry on the training. He's still not completely cured of his problems, but I do feel I can handle him now. You will find Marie's number on here: http://www.ttouchtteam.com/CAPrac.html#Q2
  13. I have Plantar Fasciitis, it's incredibly painful! My advice to you is wear your Crocs all the time. Bugger the fact that they're not "smart", if they help your foot pain, you wear them, you can get virtually any colour to go with various outfits. There are even some "dressier" styles, such as Patra and they have all the support of normal Crocs. I've never looked back since I got my first pair. They have virtually cured my PF, although I still get it if I've been wearing "silly shoes". I can walk miles & miles in my Crocs, they are fab
  14. I've got about 6 pairs of Crocs. All of them are the genuine ones. I have a very painful foot condition called Plantar Fasciitis and suffered incredible pain for about 2 years. Now, I can (and do) walk miles in my Crocs. I don't give a damn what they look like, they're the comfiest things I've ever worn on my feet
  15. My two love raw fruit & veg, they always have to have carrot tops & bottoms when I'm preparing them for a salad. They also have raw courgette when I'm doing a stir-fry. Nelly particularly likes clementines, in the winter months when I eat clementines most nights, I have to peel an extra one for her, she sits & drools whilst waiting for it. Dillon isn't keen on them. They both like melon & pineapple, but pineapple makes Dillon sick. They're not actually very keen on potatoes but will eat them if there's nothing else in my leftovers.
  16. I'm not much of a gardener but I would like a bit of advice please. I have a small back garden which I covered with pea gravel a few years ago. I prepared the ground by laying a weed-proof membrane first before the pebbles were laid, but grass keeps springing up, to the extent that I almost have a lawn now . I bought some Round Up weedkiller last weekend, intending to get rid of the grass, but on the bottle it says "Keep away from pets". Someone has told me that if I spray the Round Up last thing at night, it will have dried by morning and will be ok for the dogs to go on. Is this true? If not, I will have to buy a pet-friendly weedkiller. Once I've got rid of the grass, I need to order some more pebbles to replace those I have lost due to poo-picking over the years Also, I have a lovely Magnolia Tree. At the moment, it's coming to the end of its blossoming time. It is very overgrown and I would like to trim it down a bit. Is now a good time to do that or should I wait for the autumn?
  17. Just to get the thread back on track, I'm currently using the Avon SSS Soft & Glow stuff. It's a lot gentler than the old self tanning cream & it builds up over a few days, so you don't get the streaks that you used to get with the old stuff. I think it's fab
  18. There appear to be some gremlins in MSN sending out links to a dodgy site. I have had to make a new MSN ID. If anyone wants to add me to their contacts (so that I'm not Billynomates any more) please PM me
  19. Happy Birthday handsome boy
  20. It's four whole years today since Dillon came to live with us. How time flies when you're having fun Happy Gotcha Day Sweetheart
  21. I didn't know that. My first low energy bulb died just before Christmas & I put it in my wheelie bin
