  1. This dog has been moved out of the kennels into the care of a local dog trainer. The situation is only temporary but she is no longer in immediate danger of PTS. She's been tested with other dogs and is fine with them, apparently her temperament with people is absolutely fantastic.
  2. A friend of mine has been trying to help a rottie bitch who is in a boarding kennel in Cowfold, Sussex. As far as I can ascertain, she was handed over to the council by an elderly owner and the council placed her in a commercial kennel they have a contract with. Her time is now up and she is due to be put to sleep today. It's unfortunate that I wasn't given the details of this earlier, but to my knowledge she is still alive. The dog is four years old, I do not know if she is spayed, she has a good temperament with people but was said to be dog aggressive. However, there is a strong possibility that this is kennel related as when out of kennels, she seems to ignore other dogs. The contact for this is Richard Carlton - his number is 07780 582540. He has tried the different rottie rescues but no-one can help at the moment. Please feel free to crosspost this. Thank you

This was supposed to go in the urgent section - not sure what I've done here - could a mod please move this? Thank you
  4. Dogs Trust DEFRA Campaign People can change the wording of the letters included here too if they wish.
  5. That is worrying, I would tell the police and also the local radio - warn people. There's no reason for them to stop a van and get out to see your dogs.
  6. No worries Does nobody else use this kind of thing
  7. Hi, thank you . I just tried it but it doesn't upload files as Word documents, it kind of changes the formatting.
  8. Hi, I need to save a Word document on an on-line storage system, so that I can distribute the URL and people can find the document and download it. There seems to be a lot of free file storage out there, but can anyone recommend one? I appreciate that free sites are going to come with adverts but the one I tried earlier had women's boobs all over it - not really suitable ;) Thank you
  9. Blimey is that case still going on! Can't believe she's been pursuing it for four years, does make you wonder if there's something else going on there...
  10. How absolutely awful for you. I know it's not for everybody but you could consider going to your GP and ask to be referred to a counsellor. It just sounds like you could do with some help in learning to feel good about yourself and maybe it would help you get through this. I've just started seeing someone and it's tiring but very helpful. xx
  11. He's very nice has a lovely sparkle in his eye now he's safe.

    Flea Treatment

Garlic works just as well and there's no risk to the dog.
  13. It was enjoyable but the moral message running through it was over done. The prime minister was horrible and something nasty should have happened to him. I liked the Yantob character - I liked the way they portrayed his relationship with Jack. I thought Gwen's husband was the more pointless of the characters
  14. I agree it is awful for the dogs and I wish it didn't have to happen, but the police officers can't risk getting bitten and in a way it's better for the dogs that precautions are taken, better than putting them in a position where they can bite. If they aren't seized then how will the problem of yobs and their dogs ever be addressed? I know not all the homes will be the same, but if the police have targeted the likes of those on the BBC programme about my weapon is a dog, then these dogs aren't being ripped away from loving homes.

    Dongles

I didn't know there were such things. Before two minutes ago, I was unaware the word 'dongle' existed
  17. I don't think I'd risk letting my dog kill a cat just to save some plants, I know it's really annoying but all the same. If it's happening at night, it's probably going to be a fox.
  18. I won't watch this film and put money in the film-makers' pocket - they should never have used those children, they should have used real actors. To take them from the what they live in (albeit 'normality' for that area) and put them in little suits and parade them down the red carpet, put them up in hotels in what must have been luxury they had never imagined, then to put them back in the slum was appalling. Even adults would find that hard, let alone young children. There has been news coverage of the boy being beaten by his 'uncle' because he got tired and didn't want to pose for the press anymore and then, as people have said above, their home was flattened. I think the whole thing was disgusting.
  19. I use Milton sterilising fluid on the floors inside the house and on my patio.
  20. Completely unrelated to any of the genre you've said you like but Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy are absolutely fantastic - Northern Lights is the first one.
  21. Ah right - thought you meant they were a guest on the show. I don't see how the actions of one police officer can be generalised to the whole police force.
  22. You're kidding?? Did you get the name of the twonk - I'd like to contact him??
  23. Think you made a good decision to bring it forward - the long the knee is damaged, the more likely that arthritic changes will occur, or so my vet told me. Best of luck - cruciate repair is a very stressful time.
