  7. Possibly, because of her job, I'll sk her though, I'm certainly not ruling anything out for her at the moment.
  8. Thanks Cheryl I'll pass that info on, the problem I know she's been having is finding somewhere that allows the dogs, if she needs any further help I'll get back to you
  9. Posting this on behalf of a good friend, she is in urgent need of accommodation due to a relationship breakdown, She is a lecturer teaching Animal Care and Dog Behaviour, can provide references for both herself and her three very well behaved dogs. All three dogs go to work with her on a daily basis and therefore wouldn't be left unattended. She is looking for somewhere in the Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Elton, Prescott, saint Helens areas, size of accommodation not important as long as it's dog friendly. If anyone knows of anyone renting a property or if you can give her any contacts I'd really appreciate it, please pm me or post here if you have any leads she can follow up and I'll either give you her telephone number or if you prefer will pass your details along to her.
  10. uNFORTUNATELY THIS ISN'T TRUE, NOT EVERY RESCUE DOES HOME CHECKS AND SOME DON'T EVEN GET THE DOGS FULLY ASSESSED BEFORE REHOMING, PUTTING THE TWO TOGETHER IS LIKE PLAYING WITH DYNAMITE, UNFORTUNATELY THE SAD NEWS IS i KNOW OF AT LEAST TWO RESCUES THAT WORK IN THIS WAY, USUALLY WITH OTHER RESCUE PICKING UP THE PIECES WHEN THE NEW OWNERS CAN'T COPE. (SORRY NOT SHOUTING, CAPS LOCK BUTTON ON AND NO TIME TO EDIT) I guess its a case of do your homework before offering to volunteer for any rescue, amke sure they have the above policies and are putting them into action before helping them out, this way you have a pretty good chance of knowing the dog is going to the right place.
  11. You're best bet is to pm her via the site, she has definitely moved last year, I'll just check it's ok to pass her email along and will then PM you when I hear back from her, she is away on and off so she may not get back to me for a couple of days but I'll be back with some info asap.
  12. Don't tell us that or we'll be ringing you when he's had his rehab to see if you want to adopt him Thanks for the photo as well, he is a really handsome Springer isn't he, most definitely worth all this hard work
  13. ESSW and Spaniel Trust had organised a mammoth transport run yesterday and today to get Charlie Springer from Kent to Oban for some much needed rehabilatation. Charlie set off on his travels yesterday and continued very early this morning, Sandy was helping with his second to last leg where a representative of the Spaniel Trust was meeting him except, due to gale force winds the Oban ferry has been cancelled Which is where we owe Sandy the biggest of thank you's for stepping in and offering to look after our Charlie Springer and arranging direct with the Spaniel Trust to arrange collection tomorrow when hopefully and very much fingers crossed needed the ferry will be running again. A massive thank you from us all Sandy, you saved the day and I am sure that Charlie will be very grateful to you as well.
  14. Only just seen this Sarah. Stay positive love, and we'll all keep the positive thoughts coming for her, fingers crossed they will come up with something that will ease the pain quickly and long term.

  25. I had an email this morning from Martin, Bailey's owner, here it is Just a quick one to let you know that Bailey has got a lot worse on his legs the last week or so. He's now very reluctant to come downstairs - him putting his weight on his front legs must be really painful. He's been to the vet and they have put him on some super-strong painkiller liquid that he has to have with his food every evening. It's that strong that he can't even have his daily Pedigree Jointcare with it. The vet says that the worsening of his condition is down to his bones getting thicker, so I suppose that won't ever get any better. He's on a rice and chicken diet to get him slimmer - I have to report that he's 3lb heavier now than when we had him from you..... well, he deserves spoiling The vet is hoping to take him off the painkillers in three weeks; he has another appointment on the 8th December. We always promised ourselves that the main thing would be his quality of life - there's no way we're going to let him live in too much pain and in a way that wouldn't allow him to express himself freely. This isn't anywhere near the end or anything like that, and we still hope and expect to take him on holiday to the beach this summer, but I just wanted to keep you up to date on how the little mite is doing. In himself, he is now officially a grumpy old man and a cheeky scamp. If his toys are not returned to him, or his food is not prepared as quickly as he'd like, or he isn't getting a ball throw when he thinks he deserves one then he'll let us know by shouting at us. He's learned to like the sound of his own voice He's still the best and most loved-up little Springer in England. Ta ta for now, Martin I'm keeping fingers firmly crossed that Bailey will soon be back to his usual self with his new painkiller and sending him lots of positive thoughts. Also I'm thinking about sending Martin some ear plugs, if Baileys demands are anything like Ollie's they will be very loud and never ending
