  1. Jet says that if there's one in the north east, he'd love to join in for a stroll and preferably a paddle as well! ;)
  2. Oh my goodness - arthritic Jet has just climbed onto the sofa lol.
  3. Well, either hubby's got slower over the past week, or Jet has got faster ;). We've changed Jet's diet gradually and now he's off his complete food and onto a mixture of raw, fish, veg and Chappie. We also have some glucosamine and chrondotin (sp?) on order for his stiff joints, but I'm sure he's a bit more mobile already. It was very funny this morning when it was time to go back to the car. Jet became convenienty deafer and faster as hubby tried to catch up with him! Think a trip to the beach may be on the cards tomorrow, as Jet loves the water.
  4. We were lucky enough to meet and adopt the lovely Jet on Saturday :). What can I say about him? He's the 1st larger breed we've ever had and he is just wonderful. I'd been told how lovely he was, but nothing could have prepared us! We will post photo's shortly but, in the meantime, just to say that Jet is a perfect gentleman, with very good manners. He's sleeping well, eating well, and has generally settled very quickly. He comes to the office with us every day, and everyone at work has fallen in love with him too. Although he's a bit stiff, he's playful and found himself a tennis ball on only his 2nd walk, which he proceeded to carry home. I'd say he was 100% perfect - except that we have just found out he's a bit of a thief (labrador, thief? ) in pet shops. Once he realised all the food was in bags and he couldn't get to it, he decided to help himself to a parrot soft toy off the shelf, so of course we had to treat him! Can't say anymore really - he's just wonderful.
  5. May I suggest you pm Selina on this forum - she's the co-ordinator for English Springer Spaniel Welfare. ESSW have springers all over the place looking for good homes and I'm sure Selina will be able to help.
  6. When our first cav slipped a disc in his back, he wasn't allowed to jump onto the furniture. Ex hubby and I spent 6 weeks taking turns sleeping on the floor with him, with the sofas turned upside down so he couldn't try and get up on them.

    Feebee

aww, bless her heart . She looks so happy. I was talking about Feebee the other day with OH, as were lucky enough to help transport her. Hoping she stays healthy for a long time to come yet, albeit if it has to be on meds.
  8. I have 3 ex-puppy farm dogs - if you want any info from my experience, please pm me
  9. Some cavs are energetic too you know ;). Mind you, they are very adaptable. I adore them .
  10. We have snow! nah nah nah nah nah ;) Well we did have 30 minutes ago, but it's melted away again. Blowing a gale from the north and the forecast is for 'proper' snow . Oh the joys of living on a hill in County Durham ;)
  11. Yep Totally obsessed and absorbed by them. I love their company, talk about them when I'm not with them and love nothing more than being on the beach or in the woods with them, playing and training them! I'm sure people watching me think I'm nuts!
  12. The bitch was lovely, and the pups adorable.
  13. I'm afraid that's the conclusion I reached too, that the fate of the pups would be covered up. They also could've made more of that fact that the general public should be aware of buying from back yard breeders .
  14. I can think of one situation which was so sad that I completely broke down in tears, but only when I was safely away from the home. It was a lovely family, who had to rehome their precious dog, due to a terminal illness in the family. More often, I've shed tears of anger that people have been able to part with their dog without even saying goodbye. I also feel for the dogs that leave home without any possessions at all.
